With that, Heidi is guaranteed a full year reign as Young Lions Cup Champion. The only other person to do that was Hallowicked. And in my opinion it will go down as one of the worst and boring YLC reigns of all time. It felt like she just sat on it for most of the year and that's because she did. That's not her fault but not giving her opponents to fight every now and again is just dumb... She may be in COTI but you can work the YLC into other bookings for her
Again this is something the YLC needs to become, a Traveling Title, something that can be defended in other promotions and such. Tadasuke did it over in Japan, it needs to be done more here to make it feel more relevant, especially when CHIKARA booking gets in the way like it did this year. Tadasuke did it and it sucked. And this is coming from a guy who likes Tadasuke. But he defended it against two no-names.

Just get the YLC defenses in and all over. I think it would be cool to see the YLC become more world traveled. There are so many Young Talents and promotions that could even benefit from the exposure.
Im just saying when stuff like COTI gets in the way of a title reign as bad as it did here, something should be done to make sure the YLC isn't forgotten about...

Again, I don't think the YLC should be a title anymore. Two titles works with the way CHIKARA organizes it's shows. Three is too much.

Until i know the two main chikara titles, Gran champion and campiones de perejas, was never defended outside chikara ring. so i really doubt they would do that with the YLC

I think the Challenges of the Immortals didn't really effect the YLC at all. If Quack wanted the title defended, he'd have booked it to be defended. It was a case of him not wanting to emphasize it, like he's done in other seasons prior. Simple as.
Also, to be fair, in seasons of old the YLC was essentially just a trophy you could win at the tournament. More of a KotR accomplishment than, say, winning the IC title.

Not really, though, especially since it was basically the focal point of Vin Gerard's first year of existence, and his feuds with Fire and Jimmy Olsen. To say nothing of the great work Ricochet and Chuck Taylor did with it. Or more recently, the big Tim Donst/Jakob tsuris.

Before the Vin Gerards and Fire Ants of the world, the YLC was pretty non-existent in the seasons outside of the holder carrying it around. Not like Shane Storm was lighting up every show with defenses or anything.

Can someone explain the logistics of the YLC?
So, it's an annual tournament but you can also defend the cup against challengers? What happens to the holder of the cup when the new tournament rolls around? Are they automatically entered in it?

What happens to the holder of the cup when the new tournament rolls around? Are they automatically entered in it? Basically, the Cup is reserved for competitors of the age of 25 and under(though this limit has been fudged a LOT), and when the newest tourney comes around, whoever holds the Cup at the time vacates it so a new Young Lion can step up.
