Which do you prefer?
I like having them around to aid Superman with guidance and advice. Never seen the point in having him be orphaned.

Alive.
Batman has the monopoly on the whole "both parents are dead" market, imo.
Plus with the Kents alive it adds another wrinkle to the Batman-Superman dichotomy. Basically I think it just makes things better on the whole with the Kents alive.

Alive
Although when Pa died in the pre flashpoint universe I loved the bit after the funeral where he talks to Bruce on how to cope with the loss.

Alive because I like the fact that Superman has a different thing going on with his parents than a lot of super heroes. They are alive and he gets along with them and it is a dynamic I really like.

Another vote for alive, I like how he can just go back there and be a normal guy when he wants to, and how even the all powerful alien being still goes to his folks for advice.

I dunno, Jonathan was pretty f***ing stupid in Man of Steel so I'm not sure there's any way of keeping him from dying. Aside from that, keep 'em alive.

Alive, for the reasons that already have been mentioned.
A related question: Do you prefer the "made from clay" origin of Wonder Woman or the New 52 one that says she is the daughter of Zeus?

I'm not sure, I like Pa and Ma on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, but I think dead, at least Pa, like in Superman: The Movie works best. There isn't anything that Clark could do, his dad, like everyone else's died and like most it wasn't due to villain or anything unnatural. It's a humanizing moment to me.

Daughter of Zeus I'm a Wonder Woman fan but I always HATED the clay origin. I loved her interactions with her God family......shame besides Hera they're no longer around, I miss em

The real question is Married or Divorced.
I prefer never married at all. I mean honestly when you think back on the best Jonathan Kent stories, they are all when he's the young pun cracking corn slinging single guy. Slinging Corn from silo to silo as he saves Small-Ville from his rougues gallery. I think the worst thing they ever did was have him and Martha Jane get married. It just ruined everything.
That's why he needs to make a deal with the devil to wipe it out of history.

Alive. This whole isolated and lonely alien idea is just garbage for a being that's a symbol for hope. i do like him not being married to Lois however.

As well as Jonathan's death was handled in the 1978 movie and All Star, I'd rather they stay alive. Supes already has to cope with the loss of 95% of his people and his birth parents, taking his Earth family from him seems a bit cruel.

Supes being a massive mama's boy adds to his characterization. So I'll say alive.

I do prefer at Least Ma Kent being alive. But Pa Kent dying usually teaches Superman an important lesson. "Even Superman can't save everyone." Which is why I liked in All-star Superman it was that Pa died of a heart attack. It's a small thing that happens to people that Superman has no real way of preventing. edit: As for Wonder Woman... I never really liked the made of Clay origin, and Zeus having tons of illegitimate children has always been a thing in Greek Mythology. Though that was Wonder Girl's origin originally.

I prefer Ma being alive, but the issue of All-Star Superman where Pa passes away sold me on his death teaching Clark the lesson that not even Superman will always be able to save everyone.
As long as he dies of a completely normal and natural heart attack and doesn't seemingly commit suicide by tornado like he did in Man of Steel

Keep Ma alive, let Pa be there to teach Superman one of his most valuable lessons.
