I played Kingdom Hearts once and hated it. I felt like a complete tool for having bought it. Why? That game kicks ass.

Okay, I just got back. I was bored and picked up the original Lego Star Wars. Everyone says it's fun, so I bought it for the hell of it. I hope it's better than Ratchet: Deadlocked, which is the aforementioned game I bought three weeks ago and barely touched since. I have Final Fantasy 9 still shrink wrapped somewhere. Bought it at a pawn shop (this copy was probably stolen) for 8 bucks. I highly recommend you try it. Final Fantasy 9, IMHO, is the best FF out there. Yes, even better than VII and X. I personally think Final Fantasy 4 aka 2 on SNES is the best final Fantasy...followed by 6(aka 3) then 7. I don't think Cecil, Kain, Rosa, Rydia, and Edge get enough credit...they are the crapnit EDIT: LMAO at crapnit... i never thought that word would get filtered

When I buy a game, the plastic wrap comes off in a flash and it's in my system asap.

My brother is a big videogame junkie... He also has a really good job... He also tends to take advantage on any and all deals videogame related he can get his hands on... If I were going to estimate the number of games that he bought and has never played, I'd put that number somewhere between 50-60... Yes, 50-60 games that lay untouched... Kinda crazy...

It was almost the same with Katamari Damacy. I played it a few times, had trouble controlling the katamari, and couldn't beat simple levels. So I put it away for a couple of months. I later picked it up again and beat it in an evening. I still play it occasionally to try and beat my Moon record. Same exact thing happened to me. Its my strategy for games. It happens all the time. I get stuck at a level, put the game down for a while, bring it back and it seems easy.

There was a gap between my obsession with Final Fantasy VII and Kingdom Hearts and the times I actually beat the both of them. Right now, I need to get around to beating Jax 3 and Sly Cooper 2. If I get around to it, maybe I'll even start playing Destroy All Humans and Sky Gunner.

Onimusha 2. Though I only got it because the wireless controller I wanted came with it, but I haven't actually tried it.

When I read the thread title I was thinking that you`d need to be mad to buy a game then never play it. Then I remembered when I went bought 3 Vietnam War based games and played one of them. 2 still have the celophane wrapper on them.
Bought loads of retro games (SNES, Megadrive, Dreamcast etc) that I haven`t yet touched.

I played GTA Vice City for like five minutes and then just shelved it. The camera controls sucked (I mean...you can't move the camera while moving. You have to stop, stand totally still, and THEN look around. I can't handle that. At least San Andreas fixed that issue).
But as for never once playing a game I purchased...uh, no. I at least try to get some enjoyment out of what I throw my money at. I might not always succeed, but I gots to try.

I did have the tendency of buying games who looked interesting on paper, and then I got severely disappointed/frustrated after a few minutes of play.
* Gangsters * Championship Manager 01-02 * Myst * Grand Prix World
The last two were Gold Editions, so they were cheap, but I bought Gangsters at its full price, I was so pissed off when I realized I HATED the game. Luckily I traded it for Grand Prix Legends... Which I played a bit more, but gave up on it... but at least I kinda enjoyed it, despite being the hardest game in history.
And I won't even write a list of games I downloaded and never played... Lately I don't even bother to install them to give them a quick try. They go straight to DVD and chances they'll never see my hard drive again are very high...

I have about 100 or so NES games I haven't really played. I collect them, so if they aren't really great, I'll give them about 5 minutes, then put them with the rest. There are a few games I bought and haven't played. I bought Beyond Good and Evil and Skies of Arcadia for Gamecube hearing they were awesome, but never had the time to devote to them. I also bought The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages for GBC and never opened it, since I hadn't beaten Oracle of Seasons and wanted to do the link-up thing.
