Watched this documentary on Netflix today. youtu.be/HfRDZ4iOnSoSeriously f***ed up the way family court is handled. No surprise its corrupt as heck, but the level of harm done to families is disgusting.

I'm glad there's a film that displays this. This is one of the issues MRAs claim to be about before things got real muddled by them.

I seen this a few days ago. There is one scene in it which that disturbs me so much that I hate to think about it. And that is when... {Spoiler}{Spoiler} They show some found footage of a judge whipping his DISABLED daughter with a belt.

^Jeez what set that part up? The context I mean? {Spoiler}{Spoiler} They were showing that the judges, who are suppose to deiced which parent will be the best for the child, might not always be the best example of a parent themselves.

How'd they catch the Judge whipping his daughter though?

I'm a first hand witness of how the courts get it completely wrong when it comes to divorce/custody hearings.

Just now got done watching this, and yeah its pretty brutal. I can't imagine what someone who has been divorced would think of this film.

Yeah, it was a big news story, I think. Some people felt like the judge got a raw deal, rather than "Maybe the daughter recorded this because her dad probably does this quite a lot and gets away with it, and it'd be his word against mine otherwise".

I love the contrast of divorce in America versus divorce in a Scandanavian country (I forget which one) where they have a cap on how much alimony someone can receive and how long you they can receive it. Without the financial incentive of half of your ex's income for the foreseeable future, it kind of takes the edge off the proceedings and makes it less of a litigious blood sport. I love one guy sums up how divorce goes in his country by saying something like "you get divorced and it hurts for a while. But then time goes by and then at some point you're at your child's birthday party, and maybe she's with someone new and you're with someone new and it's fine."
I still can't understand how someone can watch something like this and still not understand why someone could have misgivings about getting married.

Yeah, alimony needs to disappear. Hell, I'm a firm believer that the entire concept of marriage no longer be recognized by government.

Every time I see the thread title I think someone has started a strange, yet sounds oddly entertaining, WC ripoff site.
