Every once in a while, someone creates a thread discussing wrestling's best 'big' (meaning overweight) man. Well, how about we discuss the best wrestlers with a lot of height to spare? In other words, let's talk about the best of wrestling's tall grapplers.
Kevin Nash was a big deal in WCW from the time he and Hall founded the nWo, but than some early matches that he had with Hall and Hogan, I thought 'big sexy' was actually 'big lazy' in terms of how he went about working in WCW. That having been said, Nash was on fire during the 94 Royal Rumble event, and had several very good matches just before he left the WWF to join WCW.
I love Sid Justice / Vicious / Sycho Sid. The guy isn't just tall; he has charisma and intensity that is almost unmatched in wrestling, and his physique is incredible. Loved his WM8 match with Hogan and supported Sid fully throughout all the events that led up to his WM8 match.
Abyss may have the best in-ring ability of any 'tall man' I can think of. He is one of the main reasons why I was drawn to TNA.
The Undertaker's a pretty tall dude, too. He uses a very limited moveset, making his matches rather predictable, but he threw some diversity into the mix when he had those epic WM matches with Shawn Michaels. The swan dive he took to the outside was gorgeous and incredible for a guy his size (and age) to pull off, nevermind how dangerous the spot was.

My heart says Sid but my brain says Undertaker. Also, eDemento2099, I've been watching through WWE '95 and pretty impressed by the effort that Diesel puts in to have a good match. He even tried his hand at being a high flyer vs. Mabel at SummerSlam. Got to give him props for that.

I mean Taker unless he was in the ring with Bret, HBK or Foley was largely abysmal really until 2002 when he suddenly got really good. But I think he's the best overall.
Sid was amazing in his 96 comeback to the WWE though. Just brilliant and so charismatic.

Kane. I'll take a lot of heat for saying this, but I think Kane is the better overall performer between him and Undertaker, for the pure reason of Kane being more versatile. He can be serious, he can do comedy, he can do the supernatural stuff. With Undertaker, you know exactly what you're getting. Kane's much more well rounded.

But I can't think of a Kane singles match that I love.

First, how do you define “Tall man”? Was Hogan eligible when he started, at about 6’7”? If so, here’s my list: (I don’t know Japanese wrestling well, and so don’t include them, although Giant Baba was supposedly among the best) I’ve included what I’d guess their real height was in parentheses.
1. Hulk Hogan (6’7”)- tremendous performer, even with his limited move set. More charisma than almost anyone else.
2. Undertaker (6’9”)- another great performer with relatively limited moves, but maybe the best gimmick ever. And, he evolved for the better thru out his career.
3. Andre The Giant (7’0”)- great charisma, surprisingly agile in his younger days. It always amazed me that he could work an audience so well despite his limited command of English.
4. Kevin Nash (6’11”)-again, terrific charisma despite limited moves. He was without question the coolest guy in wrestling for several years.
5. Big Show (7’0”)-long, successful career for a big man. Always solid promos, he has also evolved for the better over the years.
6. Kane (6’10’)-ditto above, his evolutions have been perhaps even more dramatic then Big Show.
7. Sid (6’10”)-Great physique, great intensity, but limited in the ring. Plus his intensity often seemed….goofy? And his motivation always seemed questionable.
8. Ernie Ladd (6’9”)-fabulous athlete with great moves, so-so promos. won lots of regional titles.
9. Big john Studd (6’9”) limited moves, but fair charisma/promos. (sounding like a broken record)
10. Black Jack Mulligan (6’7”) very solid technical worker, fair promos.

If 6'7'' is the cutoff, then David Von Erich deserves a mention. Had he not died, he'd be among the best of the tall wrestlers.

In a few years, should nothing bad happen to him, I can see Big Cass being on this list.

Don Leo Jonathan and Ernie Ladd were, at their peak, better workers than just about anyone listed so far. Almost tempted to list Don Jardine (aka the Spoiler) but he was only about 6'5" or so. The only one from the modern era who comes close is UT, and that's strictly on his work from the last decade; if based on his work before that, he would be far down the list.

I was going to mention Don Leo Jonathon, but wikipedia lists him at 6'6" and folks were saying the cutoff should be 6'7". I'm pretty sure he was billed taller than that at times.
