Who was the tallest ever? Was it Giant Gonzales?

First, how do you define “Tall man”? I DON'T KNOOOOOOOOOOOOW! Intuitively, I guess. No one ever specified a cut-off weight for those 'big man' discussions, nor did anyone demand one. So I'm the only guy who likes Abyss and considers him a 'tall man'?

Ooow-I forgot about David Von Erich. Absolutely,he’d be in my top ten. The best of the Von Erichs, easily.

Kane is the better overall big man than Taker by a good distance, 'Taker took two decades as a wrestler to become good in his own right. The difference between Kane and his 'brother' is that Taker has been heavily protected much of his WWF/E career by his gimmick and when he dropped it to play out his midlife crisis on screen, he stank.
Big Show is the best big man of all time, he could do it all in the ring and he's possibly a top 50 mic worker of all time to boot.

In fairness to 'Taker... in his early years, outside of Bret/Shawn.. who did he have to work with that wasn't the drizzling shits?
Edit: in his early years, he worked with good hands such as Jake and Hogan... but A. Taker was still fairly green and working the gimmick to the hilt and B. Neither of those guys are known as great technicians.

My heart says Sid but my brain says Undertaker. Also, eDemento2099, I've been watching through WWE '95 and pretty impressed by the effort that Diesel puts in to have a good match. He even tried his hand at being a high flyer vs. Mabel at SummerSlam. Got to give him props for that. Oh when he tried, Nash could go. Check our Superbrawl 2, him as Vinnie Vegas, teaming with Richard Morton against Van Hammer and Tom Zenk, I was amazed that the match was actually really good. I think this was when WCW were giving bonuses for best match of the night so everyone was trying their best. I think he's like Sid in that once he got over, he noticed what people were popping for and did as little as he needed to do to stay over unless he wanted to.

If we're going by a minimum of a real 6'7" height and not kayfabe, Hogan very likely has to be excluded.

I often wish he had been Kevin in WWE more. Diesel's issues were in large part just having mediocre feuds, but I think he's at his best when he's allowed to be a smartass and play a sarcastic dick, rather than the big angry guy. I guess Kane or Undertaker would be my pick, but Nash isn't as far behind for me as he would be for some others.

Diesel's ring work is underrated, he was at one point better than the Undertaker, the problem is that when he realised he didn't need to try anymore, he just stopped improving and actively regressed to such an extent that people forgot he was ever decent. Usually when that happens to a big man, it's down to injury, but Nash came into wrestling pre-injured, he just realised he would be paid the same whatever so coasted.

Sid Vicious in his early WCW days was really dominant.

Here top 5 list.
1. The Undertaker: I give him a pass in the early days because he didn't have much to work with a lot of times when he himself was still learning. As time went on he shown what he can do. Much like during the attitude era in ring started to show. Then of course later years he added the MMA stuff. Honestly he was near 7'0 tall and walking the ropes. The fact he kept over all these years and changed up looks and stuff to the point he still a big deal says something.
2. Kane: The man again very athlete for a man his size and the fact he still can do it those things is impressive. granted for Glenn it did take him several gimmick to fine one that sticks but the fact he could take crap and turn it into something is talent.
3. Big Show: I know people hate him now but this guy can do way more then most guys his size should be doing. The guy is a rare bread in wrestling a big man who can work.
4. Kevin Nash: The guy gets to much crapped on and people don't want to look at the big picture. He takes so much blame for that 95 year when he was given shit to work with. NOBODY has gotten a great match out of Mabel. Who really has with Sid? Those two alone is 5 months of his title run. Nash wasn't the problem. The guy can work good enough, he can talk, and say what you want about him and people make his quad jokes even though it was once and nobody gives HHH and shit over it. The man was over.
5. Andre The Giant: Younger days he was good for a man his size. The reality he was one of a kind as the big deal factor in wrestling. People paid to see him for his size and larger than life presents.

Thats a fair list, and agreed on Nash, he wasn't spectacular by any stretch of the imagination but judging him by the crap he was saddled with in 1995 is unfair, as soon as 1996 hit he had good PPV matches with Bret, Undertaker and Shawn. He was allowed to be the heel he is good at playing, had he just stayed heel to begin with in 1995 things may have been different. Him and Shawn still had gas in the tank as a pairing to be honest, I think they could both have gone through late 1994-mid 1995 as the heel duo they were.

If we're including people that are billed around the 6'7" mark then for my money there's only one answer and that's Mike Awesome. No one before or since has been his size and been able to come close to the things that man could do, he was a complete anomaly. It's still completely beyond my comprehension that he didn't end up becoming one of the biggest stars in wrestling especially when you consider the kind of positions a lot of people on this list found themselves in with barely a quarter of the in-ring talent Awesome had.

He moved up to the "big leagues" when he was older, and into WCW where people didn't want to take all the crazy bumps that his moves involved to put him over, that's before the poor booking and interviews kick in.
