When it gets cold here in Michigan I realize ever year how little I appreciated the 3-5 months in which it wasn't that cold.
But when I think of Winter I don't think of being frozen I think of:

Then obviously you haven't experienced a Central New York winter. They can be absolutely brutal. Last year we didn't have a temperature higher than the freezing point for nearly three months. And last February, our average high temperature was 9 degrees! It also snowed for 23 out of the 28 days, and the high was in the negative for 20 days. We also got about 160 inches last winter, but we weren't even complaining about that because of how cold it was! Buffalo got 70 inches of snow in one weekend last year, and this was before Thanksgiving. Supposedly this winter is going to be milder, but I will believe it when it happens. |

I used to love winter more than summer because I was fat and had an excuse to wear lots of layers.
However, now I'm skinny, and I was unemployed all summer so I got used to wearing t-shirts, shorts and flip flops pretty much 24/7. Now that it's starting to get colder I hate it. I have to wear regular shoes, and with all the weight loss I get cold so much easier.
