I think I'm going to give up on NXT. I've tried watching after the hype but it's pretty shit to be honest. Granted, I've only been watching maybe 3 or 4 weeks but it just seems to be a bunch of pointless squash matches and then a mediocre main event match.

Either someone at Full Sail screwed up, or was trying to have some funsies with the whole idea that so far, NXT hasn't done anything to differentiate the two from each other. I still can't tell them apart, even though they don't look anything alike. |

The Takeover shows are the ones that get the hype, the weekly shows can be hit and miss. But the Takeover shows get all that hype based on the stories that get built up on the weekly shows. Like, would Bayley winning the Women's Championship have the same emotional resonance if you didn't watch her struggle for the preceding year and a half on the weekly shows? Probably not. Yeah, the weekly episodes aren't anything groundbreaking in terms of wrestling programming, but it doesn't really need to be. All it needs to do is serve the purpose of building up talents and progressing storylines towards the climax at the next Takeover... What I've seen be described as "sustainable episodic television". |

I know it may be heresy, but I really don't like Asuka. Her wrestling is great, but her mannerisms and facial expressions are just weird. I never saw her before NXT, maybe that's just her thing. Right now though, she just looks like she's trying way too hard.

NXT has been really hit or miss this year. This week was a miss to me.
I need more from this show than a bunch of meaningless squash matches. No one seems to really feud with each other anymore either. You get a set up for a future match, some backstage promos from the guys, and then the match. Joe/Breeze could be a lot more interesting if they bothered to give them a proper build up to their match instead of some 30 second promos. Scrap one of the divas squashes and use that time to do something with that instead. Also how about we give one of these new girls a gimmick that isn't leggy Aussie? Why are the Mechanics losing when they're supposedly being built up as the next tag team challengers? This is shit I'd expect from RAW. I get that not every week can be a winner, but this has been a regular occurrence this year.
I don't think I'm asking for a lot. But I'd like to actually get something regularly substantial out of the show, like I feel I used to. Sorry, Baron Corbin vs. Rhyno part 2 doesn't cut it.
