I just wanted to show some love to one of the greatest stories in Marvel Comics history. For those of you who don't know, the story is basically about a villain named Thanos who uses the six infinity gems (each representing a different element; time, mind, etc.) to essentially make himself God and wipe out half the universe's population. Coincidentally, all the people who didn't get wiped out happened to be major characters (Spiderman, Hulk, Wolverine, etc) and they all end up going after him, and ultimately are killed one by one in brutal fashion. Best death was Iron Man getting his head ripped off.
So who else has read this? And what did you think of its follow-ups; Infinity War and Infinity Crusade? War was good, but Crusade sucked IMHO. Thoughts?

The TPB is out for Gauntlet and Thanos Quest. I'm not sure about War and Crusade.

Sounds like I have a comic trip to embark on. I just finished Vol 1 of Sea of Red, DMZ, Fables, Hellblazer, and Preacher and could use something new.

If I just hated everything I'd just put "I hate it, it's crap." This is just not my kind of comic. I'm sorry that offends you, because someone dares have an opinion of their own, but I'm not gonna praise something just to make you feel secure in your own choices.

I don't normally go for Marvel, but Starlin wrote the hell out of IG, and whilst Perez was on it, the art was godlike too. Didn't like the followups, though.

Oh, and of the brutality, I always liked the finality of Spidey, beaten to death with a rock by Terraxia.

I can never get into this multi-series events that always end up resetting everything to Status Quo anyway. I get what you're saying. It's like "In this issue every hero dies!", then for some reason regular continuity is reset by the next issue & nothing whatsoever has changed. Heck, even if a mini-series does create some major changes they'll be ret-conned out of existence in 2 years time.

Well, all I can say is that if Barry Allen ever comes back for more than a short period, I'm gonna be pissed off.

Crisis is one of the few stories wherein the changes actually stuck, except for Superman Prime, or Earth-1 Superman or wahtever he's called. I'd assumed all continuities bar one had been completely destroyed.

The Gauntlet in and of itself was a nice self contained story, and Starlin was able to raise Thanos past his Darkseid ripoff status, plus you had Perez art ( who's pretty much ranks right up there in my penciler top five) for the first couple of issues and Lim doing an admirable job for the last three. That lil six ish storyline was really great. Didn't care much for the two sequels, but the original Gauntlet was a good story.

I liked Guantlet and War, but never read Crusade. The game based on it was cool as well. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) ![](http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f352/erisi236/thanos-wins.gif)
