Hey FAN! you guys tend to give some great tips on pretty basic stuff (most of the time), so I have another one to ask. Ok, so I'm deaf in one ear from water stuck in there. This happens to me often, these days and it's very bothersome. Usually I wait a several days (Like 5-7 days), before it clears up on it's own, but I would really like to know how others deal with this sort of problem, immediately/as soon as they can, to drain that fluid and clear the blockage, as I would like this irritation gone asap. Like things that actually have worked for you all, not just random web MD stuff, as I've already tried google. Advice guys?

Dunno if this works, but when my ear kinda feels clogged by some thing or another, what I do is pinch my nose to block any air from going out, then try to blow my nose at the same time. The process kind of makes my ears get a popping sensation, and that about works for me.
'course, I'm not even remotely sure that can be applied to ears with water stuck there, but it might be worth a try.

Lay on the side of the affected ear for a while. Usually it will be able to move that way. It's a better tactic than trying to force it out, which can make things worse.

Do you know what's causing the water in your ear? And have you talked to a doctor?

I remember waking up with my left ear totally blocked a few years ago. What I eventually did was put some olive oil into a bowl, dabble a cotton ball in it, then place the wet side in the ear for a few seconds before taking it out.

Yeah, best advice is see a doctor. About the only non-doctor advice I feel comfortable doling out is try flushing it out with more warm water as you may have build-up causing the blockage, or try some Swim Ear. Otherwise I strongly urge nothing else on the non-doctor route because most other solutions and pretty much all "stick something in there" ideas can damage your ear drum and other needed parts in there.

Swimmer's Ear drops work great. Don't stick anything in there.

There are two things you can do that has worked for me in the past...
-Ear drops called Debrox can usually work if you use them twice a day. Just put a couple of drops in your ear, and lay down for about 10 minutes on your other side so that the drops get down into your ear.
-Get a bowl of warm water and use a syringe to until you start to feel it becoming unblocked

I don't have medical insurance at the moment. How much does a doctor visit for the ears cost without it, anyone?

I don't have medical insurance at the moment. How much does a doctor visit for the ears cost without it, anyone? Like $70-ish? Depends, but most doctors offices have a sliding scale, and they'll charge you less if you pay that day instead of them billing you. You wouldn't be seeing a specialist in this case, though if they refer you to one that might be more pricey.

Put cotton wool in your ear and lay on your side with the blocked ear for an hour. The water will trickle down and get soaked up by the cotton wool. My ears often get clogged and this always help.
