Just like every Bethesda game, I start out good... then about thirty minutes later I wonder if I completely f***ed the game up, but I'm having a blast doing whatever it is I'm currently doing!

Anyone else not really bother with settlements?

Only about ten hours into the game, but at this point... I'm just concentrating on building Sanctuary, mainly just so I have a central spot to toss all my random shit. And yes, I know workbenches transfer items all over... but I just like having one settlement. If I get a wild hair, I'll make another.. but right now, I'm cool with just the one.

One of my favorite random events, snuck through a raider camp to climb a big stone tower intending to snipe them. Instead, pressed a button which set off an alarm which attracted 3 Deathclaws who proceeded to just squash the entire raider camp. Where is this alarm? I must do this

Workbenches dont carry over, do they? Stashing junk in Sanctuary doesnt make it available in Diamond City in my experience.

I keep everything in Sanctuary so I haven't experimented with it yet.

If you have Rank 1 of the Local Leader perk, you can set up supply lines that make items carry over as such. You have to find a settler and order them to start a supply line, and then pick a settlement. They will share supplies with that settlement. For ease of use, the best thing to do is link other settlements with one settlement (Sanctuary is a good base, although I think Starlight Drive In is great too because it's a shorter fast travel distance to and from other areas on the map), and once you do, you can share resources. The workbenches in the linked settlements will have the same resources available.

Biggest complaint... enemies get the drop on you WAY too easy. Seems like nothings going on and I'm taking damage all of a sudden, spin around... nothing... VATS nothing... I take several hits before I find whats going on.

I must do this Forgot the name of the settlement but it is north west from the Insane Asylum that you need to visit for a quest from Jack Cobolt. Or, if you do the witchcraft museum quest, the second part should take you right past it.

Giving the "Junk Jet" its REAL name: While exploring, I came across this guy and got all excited thinking I had found ED-E Jr. but alas, I couldn't interact with it: I also found this raider mourning a fallen sister in arms. It kind of ruined the moment when I approached, hoping he'd stay that way, only for him to attack me. But I've gotta say, I really like how Bethesda seems to be trying to humanize the raiders a bit more and show that they aren't just giggling psychos who will kill you for fun and then feast on your corpse. There are lines of dialogue that suggest they have remorses about their actions and there's stuff like this that shows they do have principles. Another weird moment was when I fought yet another feral Ghoul, lopped the top half of its head off... and it was still alive. Granted, it was crawling as I also blew one of its legs off earlier but come on, its brain was missing and it was still alive! I don't if that was a glitch or if it's supposed to happen but man, that was creepy.

One of my favourite places I've discovered was the racetrack where the Raider's were hosting a robot race. Made me laugh.
I kinda wish raider's didn't shoot on site and you had the opportunity to ally yourself with one or two gangs and do certain missions for some.

I went by that place and accidentally aggro'd the whole congregation. I tried taking them all down, but that freaking Assaultron kept one hit killing me with its eye laser. I ended up having to reload an earlier save. eventually I had to go back and kill them in a minuteman mission. I have to say, remote detonating all those robots and seeing the whole place go kablooey was extremely satisfying.

Had one of my favourite battles. Stumbled across a Children of the Atom base and got my ass kicked, just as I was retreating, 3 Brotherhood of Steel vertibirds flew in and started attacking them.
One got shot down, the other two dropped off Knights and Initiates and so started a huge battle around the Lighthouse that the Children of the Atom were using as base. It was awesome, vertibirds swooping around, gamma blasts pinging off everywhere, BoS knights hosing the area down with laser fire and me and Danse sneaking around the back picking them off from behind.

anyone else find it hilarious that a group of throwaway idiots from Fallout 3 became a legit danger in Fallout 4?

anyone else find it hilarious that a group of throwaway idiots from Fallout 3 became a legit danger in Fallout 4? That's true and considering the number of real-life groups throwaway idiots became legit dangers in real life, it actually seems fairly believable. I do like this kind of continuity. It really gives theses games' universe substance.
