WWE's mindset bewilders me. Del Rio is not over. He'll never be over. The crowd are silent when he appears, wrestles and wins. Bored bored bored. If they want a Latino star, push Kalisto. His gimmick is better and merchandise-friendly, his ring style more exciting, he can speak fluent English, and he's nearly a decade younger than Del Rio. So naturally, he jobs to Del Rio. Del Rio is like the bizarro world version of Cesaro. No matter how much evidence there is that Del Rio isn't a star, that fans don't care about him and never will the WWE still book him as a main event level guy and push him. It's been going on for years and years. That match last night was sloppy as shit, Del Rio sucks.

So I just have to bring this up about that match. Del Rio is absolutely a disrespectful piece of trash. There was a bit of a timing botch where Kalisto did a back flip off the ropes and Del Rio was supposed to catch it in the backstabber. Timing was off. Del Rio then clearly gets angry and after putting Kalisto on the top rope, very intentionally pulls his mask right the F off. It's a shame because Del Rio is so talented, but I really really hope he got bitched out big time for that. Del Rio wrestled that entire match like Kalisto was 6 inches taller than he is. He kept grabbing too high for moves, that backstabber attempt was the most noticeable.

It would have been great to see Kalisto win, but I completely get why they didn't. If Kalisto went on to fight Reigns, Reigns would get shit on again by the fans. Kalisto, being the little guy, fan favorite, and underdog v the huge, pushed guy who the fans seem really (hate using the term) polerized on. When (not if) Reigns beat him, the crowd would probably give Reigns Eva Marie heat. With Del Rio, they're tossing him a softball as far as fan reaction.

Del Rio did just fine outside of the WWE, but when they brought him back they continued not to play to his strengths as a performer and continued the booking that made him so stagnant people were happy to see him leave. He can be so much better but they have to have everything done their way.

This match was a real disappointment. I was thinking it was going to be good.

Match was not good. Incidentally, I predicted in the SmackDown thread a couple of weeks before Del Rio's surprise return that I expected Del Rio to be beating Kalisto soon.

It'd help at least a little if Alberto weren't so blatantly in, "I just want my paycheck," mode right now. Like, dude, I get it sucks effectively sacrificing what you seem to enjoy doing more for the sake of money, but if you're going to sell out, at least look like you give a shit while doing the job you were overpaid for.

I mean I didn't expect the guy who beat John Cena clean for the US Title to job to Kalisto, but when Ryback can put on a better match with a luchador than ADR it's time to change Del Rio's booking thought process.

They'd have put Sin Cara in there, but they were afraid that Alberto would instinctively murder him.

The match was pretty mediocre and the crowd couldn't have cared less, which is shocking since Kalisto is one of those guys who can usually drag a reaction out of even the deadest crowd because of his energetic style. He also had a taped promo before the match that was better than any of the promos ADR has cut since he came back.

I miss the armbar, I don't know, Alberto just feels weird without it. He's too tall for the diving stomp, I don't like the way it looks.

Better than any from Reigns too for that matter.

This was the worst match with two "good" workers that I've seen in a very long time.
It's not that they didn't even click; they were in completely different stratospheres.
