Also Jake Roberts in one of the Smackdown Vs. Raws where you need the PSP version to unlock him. I hated that, such a terrible idea. I never understood what the creators thought when they came up with that idea. I am sure that they regretted it. I remember before my file got corrupted, Jake Roberts was the only one I never unlocked. I had read that people used Gamesharks and Codebreakers to unlock him, and others used the ideal way to do it with the PSP, but I did not know anybody with a PSP at the time, let alone anybody with that version of the game.

The creators thought $$$ in trying to sell two copies

Not only did you unlock wrestlers, but you had to use unlocked wrestlers to unlock other wrestlers. You could unlock moves, CAW attires, arenas and championships. I imported this game when it came out. Before IceMaster or MysteriousKagura's guides came out, it was a free for all. I'll never forget turning the game on one random time and seeing a shadow wrestler doing the Jackhammer and then realising every move from WCW/nWo Revenge was now unlocked. Thought it was the coolest f***ing thing ever. It seems complicated to me, and I had also read the FAQ for "Galactic Wrestling: Featuring Ultimate Muscle," and their unlockables seem complicated. {Spoiler}Big Budo and Chojin Kid Muscle Collect 200 Figures, then beat the Tournament Mode with Kevin Mask
Blackhole and Lord Wrangler Beat the Tag Tournament Mode with King Muscle and Prince Lou Ow
Commander King Muscle Start a Team Battle Mode and select these wrestlers in this order: Ramenman, Beetlebomb, Robin Mask, Neptuneman, and King Muscle. Have one character win a match, then lose, then your next wrestler win then lose, until you win the last match with K.M.
Comrade Turbinski and Vince McMadd Get 10 Wins in Survival Mode
Gold Rouge Complete the Toy Collection mode, then complete the Mask Hunt mode
Grandpa Collect 300 Figures, then get 10 Wins in Survival Mode
Lomienman Collect 50 Figures
Lord Flash Collect 200 Figures
Neptuneman and Barracuda Win the Tournament Mode with Robin Mask
Poseidon and Starface Beat the Tag Tournament mode with Neptuneman and Big Budo
Prince Lou Ow and Buffalo Rampage Win the Tag Tournament Mode with King Muscle and Lomeinman
Rouge Shogun Unlock Commander King Muscle and win the Tag Tournament Mode with Shivano and Sunshine Supreme
Shivano and Ricardo (Lord of Darkness) Win the Tournament Mode with Kid Muscle
Street Scrapper and Ricardo, Submission Artist Complete the Mask Hunt mode
Sunshine Supreme Collect 100 Figures Now I have not played Galactic Wrestling (But I am still open to playing it), but that seems really complex.

Remember the slew of unlockable characters that WCW Nitro had? I could understand some other wrestlers, and wrestling personalities like Kimberly, Elizabeth, Gene Okerlund, etc. But what about the characters like Santa Claws, Annie Mae, Whitey The Snowman, T-Rex, etc.? Those did not make sense. I kid you not, that was the game that sold me on buying a PS1 over N64. Aaaand it was actually one of the few games I ended up deciding not to buy.

I loved how you unlocked wrestlers on Smackdown 2 by interacting with them for the first time during the season mode. But I detest the arbitrary ways you usually unlock characters in video games. I was coming in here to say that it would be cool if there was a game in which you only unlocked hidden wrestlers after they debuted by surprise during the career mode, like in real life. I had Smackdown 2 but have forgotten what it was like. Was that where you'd get the likes of Raven and Spike Dudley unlocked?

Not played it for years, but I seem to recall the first year of season mode was based entirely on the actual tv storylines, so Cactus Jack, Stone Cold and HBK were unlocked once you play through their comebacks at the Royal Rumble, Backlash and Judgment Day shows. I think you also got Billy Gunn, Mean Street Posse and Crash Holly by randomly meeting them in backstage cut scenes linked to your storyline.

Usually don't mind unlockables. I've been playing Showcase mode in 2K16 and it's fun to see what I get. But then, at 90% complete, my game corrupted and now I'm having to gudgingly replay Showcase to get it all back. I'll get Season Pass for my b-day in a few weeks, and if I don't finish by then Im just using the accelerator.

I always hate the double unlock in games where you need to do a certain thing, they pay the in-game money. Sadly, that's been replaced here by just paying real money.

The worst of this has to be Legends of Wrestling 2. You earn green coins when you win matches, use green coins to get red and blue coins... But wait you have to gamble the green coins in order to get the other coins. So you could easily spend 50 green coins and get nothing back.

I love being able to unlock characters it is something alot of games sadly do not do anymore what with DLC an all but I love the challenge of really wanting something in a game and setting the goal to get that special weapon or character etc But the HO was easily the most worthless unlock for as long as it took to earn all that money , even the giant cheese you could use as a weapon was a much more worthwhile unlock. I figured the Ho was just kind of a showoff thing, sorta like Rock's expensive shirt you could get for much more than most of the clothing items. Instead of the Ho, it'd have been kind of neat if the final unlock was another Create a Wrestler slot or something that had some unique clothing or something. The funny thing is the game has an extra Create a Wrestler slot. You just have to hack it in because they never released the Game Boy Color version that was supposed to unlock it.
