Like, seriously, are the only people seen as capable of booking a show in 2015 in the pool of Russo, Ferrera, Heyman, Cornette and McMahon? The film industry doesn't just rely on a directing pool of Spielberg, Scorsese, Scott, Cameron and Burton.

Russo is like Cornette, someone who's decades behind the times at this point and should be kept on the sidelines until they gain some appreciation of the fact it's not the 20th century anymore and a lot of the things they're pushing for stopped being used because they stopped working.

I agree with most of the fans here. No sense going backwards. They need to look elsewhere for new ideas. Maybe from the indies (ROH, Lucha Underground, etc) or something. I'm only vaguely aware of wrestling outside WWE so I really don't have any recommendations.

As long as that person understands basic storytelling and character creation.

The current army of soap opera writers have been producing far better stuff than any of the drizzling shit Russo has served up for the best part of the last decade.

Russo had his finger on the pulse of society in '97, and helped create some extremely entertaining TV. The problem is, like McMahon, his finger is nowhere near the pulse these days.

as was stated earlier... he had 2 years that are generally looked upon as good (and those years were FILLLED with crap too) and about 15 years of failure that followed.

Yes I agree, he and Gabe Sapolsky did a good work booking a tna invasion for kayfabe commentaries. He seemed receptive about working with younger people, so he wouldn't shut the writers' ideas if they were good. He seemed like he would like to learn about pop culture unlike Cornette and McMahon
