*We cut to Twilight's Castle after the day's adventures in Time Travel. Night has fallen across the land, and we see the Princess of Friendship, scribbling notes in a journal, a glass of wine sitting next to her. She looks to continue, but could use a refill, and she left the bottle up in her private cabinet in her chambers. She gets up, taking the glass with her. She walks past Spike's room, checking in on him. We see he's lost to the world, snoring away without a care. She giggles, walking in and pulling the blanket over him, tucking him in and kissing his forehead good night, like a mother would. She closes the door quietly, walking over to her chambers. She walks in, seeing the fire going still, as she walks over to the table to the bottle. She starts to pour another glass when..*
Hitting the bottle a little late, aren't you, Twilight-hime?
*Startling her, she turns to the chair in the room. She walks over, seeing Lupin sitting there, now in a blue jacket instead of his normal green or red jacket.*
TS: "Lupin-kun...."
In the flesh.
*He stands up, stretching a moment, before walking over to the window.*
TS: "What do I owe the pleasure of your presence?"
Oh, just checking in on my favorite princess. Heard you had quite an eventful day.
TS: "You don't know the half of it."
I think I might. Time travel, paradoxes, stopping an old enemy from altering the past and destroying the future.
*Twilight looks at him, a little surprised.*
TS: "How did you know all of that?"
I had a visit with the Doctor, and he explained everything. But that's not the main reason I'm here.
TS: "Oh?"
*He turns to her, his smile now gone, as he looks down at her.*
You are playing a dangerous game here, Twilight. This Starlight Glimmer is not someone to take lightly. You may think she's being reformed, but there's something off about this whole thing.
TS: "But, I reasoned with her. I explained to her about the importance of friendship."
But it seems to me she accepted it too easily, given the fact that her entire life, she did not make friends all that easy. And then she wanted revenge against you six so badly, that she was willing to change a fixed point in time.
TS: "I'm sure everything will work out fine. You're just being over cautious about this."
This isn't like Trixie, Twilight. Starlight Glimmer has shown that she is on par with you in magic. If it doesn't work out, this could be as bad as Tirek.
TS: "But we stopped Tirek as well with Rainbow Magic."
Yes, and he still came back and took you all captive.
TS: "I'm sure we could've stopped him again, but you didn't have to kill him!"
I WAS DOING WHAT WAS NECESSARY!! HE WAS GOING TO KILL YOU!!
*Twilight steps back, a little shocked and concerned at his outburst, as
this begins to play. Lupin looks down, a feeling of guilt washing over him. He looks back at her.*
I'm....I'm sorry, Twilight. I've just seen so much death and destruction in my life. Many that I was unable to prevent.
TS: "It's....it's okay. I forgive you."
*He slowly walks over to the balcony, turning back to her.*
Just remember. She may seem reformed, but it could all be smoke and mirrors. I don't want to be the one to say I told you so.....
*He hops over the edge, unveiling his glider as he flies off, as Twilight watches him, his words still running through her mind.*
