Grading the WWE Championship Side Plates

Since Sheamus put the side-plates for the WWE title for him up on his Twitter, I thought it'd be interesting to get people's judgments on the side-plates of all the people that have held the current style of WWE title, whether with the scratch or the current logo (save for Roman Reigns, we'll get those soon enough I'm sure).









And just for the heck of it, here's both versions of the "neutral" plates

(those Austin and Edge ones were from a "if they held this title" thing)

I prefer the matching ones (the RKO snake facing the opposite direction is a nice touch)

but... I do like the celtic Cross plate for Sheamus... not sure on the Ouroboros one.

Something about the simpler, cleaner styles of the plates for Rock, Brock, Rollins and Orton really stand out and look more like champion material to me.

I love Bryan, but those plates are awful.

It's neat that Cena and Sheamus have different plates instead of matching, but it makes it feel kinda cluttered to me.

I like Orton's with the flipped snakes but Seth's are my favorites simply because they have his name on them.

See, I thought they could have done this with the center plate when the Spinner belt was still the main title.... the Rated R belt is one of their best-selling and sought-after variations, isn't it?

Probably wasn't as easy to get the centerpiece of the spinner out as it is the side plates for the current style.

Not to be Mr. Negativity, but I think they all suck. People complain that the spinner belt and Divas belt look like toys, but the custom sideplates do the same thing to an otherwise respectable looking title in my opinion.

Brock, Rollins and SCSA plates are all sweet but I can't imagine Austin actually wearing that belt.

Rock - I like these quite fine.

Cena - These are fine, but meh to Cena.

RKO - These are fine.

Bryan - If I'm nit picking, I'd say it looks cartoony. And I'm not sold on the red. Should have used maroon.

Lesnar - I like it, but meh to all the red.

Rollins - Great design. Probably my favorite one.

Sheamus - I guess it's ok, but again I don't like the red.

Neutral plates - This one might be the best design actually. Interestingly, it's also the only one with gemstones.

Stone Cold - If 1998 Stone Cold wore this belt, I think that sideplate is spot on accurate for what Austin would wear. Who buys this though?

Edge - I think Edge would incorporate more red, but his is fine too.
