8/10 of the pictures is just their city hall building. Like don't get me wrong it's a fantastic looking building but come on! There has to be more things than just the city hall in Buffalo!

Probably better than my Hometown. Nope. Buffalo's a toilet that tries really hard to be Niagara Falls but without the everything.

Your hometown doesn't look much different from my hometown or the other nearby small towns that look to be bigger toilets!

If you think Buffalo is depressing, don't google Detroit The worst part about Detroit is not just that it is crumbling, but that you can tell so much of what was crumbling was once grand and beautiful. Michigan Central Station is a great example. I mean the worst part is the murders, but after that.

I've lived here for most of my life (was born in Toronto and moved here at age 4, currently 26) and still can't figure out what there is to do around here!!!
The good thing is, a lot of stuff has appeared in just the last few years. Particularly around First Niagara Center there's a whole lot of new development going on along the waterfront (Canalside). There's also the Harborcenter which is this hotel/hockey complex/store/restaurant/Tim Hortons/shrine to Sabres/Bills owner Terry Pegula.
As with Detroit, the suburbs have a lot of the growth, but downtown's getting a lot better recently. The cost of living is pretty low, which has turned certain parts of the city into a veritable hipsterpolous. Nowhere near the kind of atmosphere that NYC has for that kind of thing, but you're seeing a lot more people in their 20's getting involved in stuff.
It almost makes me happy I stayed in town. Almost.

Honestly, I love Buffalo. My wife was born and raised there and I've spent plenty of time there since about 2012. Great food, great people, and plenty to do, especially these days. And say what you want to about the Bills since the turn of the century, but Buffalo is steadfastly loyal to them no matter what. We're probably some of the best fans in the NFL period for our loyalty and enthusiasm alone. Anyone who trashes the city, I really don't understand, because it's become a second home to me.

I saw the 30 for 30 special on the Four Falls of Buffalo. Very interesting but sad. Especially by the time they made it to the 4th one where everybody is talking about how they were just exhausted and acting defeated by halftime even though they were leading.

I'm Canadian born and raised, and Buffalo is kind of like our brother from another mother.

Yeah, the 30 for 30 was extremely painful to watch. I've suffered through numerous Bills defeats and it's one of those things that has fundamentally changed me as a sports fan.
"Leading by 28 points in the fourth quarter? Naahhhhh they'll screw it up somehow"
And they sometimes do. But when they don't, the win is almost that much sweeter.
I don't know, Buffalo fans are interesting as a whole. We take stuff other cities take for granted with their sports teams and are loyal to a fault. It seems every new season brings another wave of optimism. And it's truly great to see, especially after we've sat through some awful teams and management over the last 20 years. It's just sad that the Bills playoff drought will be moving to 16 unless Mr. Ryan puts a historic run together.
But yeah, the city is really stepping things up recently. It's been awesome to see, because for years it was on the brink of stagnation. And with all the Canadian youth hockey teams coming down for tournaments, Ontario shoppers at the Galleria and tons of Tim Hortons, it does feel Canadian in places. We even have a Hero Certified Burgers that just opened downtown. Unfortunately, Swiss Chalet moved out and there aren't any Harveys to speak of, but, hey, it's only a 15 minute drive away.

Yeah, I can back this up. I've been a lot of places. Everything said here about Buffalo rings true to me. Toledo, Detroit, and Akron are the three armpits of the 9th circle of hell's three-headed butthole. So, I can't see Buffalo taking any licks ahead of those three places. (Disclaimer: that's not saying anything about residents there. The cities themselves.)

I'd say the Bills are doing the best they have in a long time. Tyrod Taylor is the most promising QB we've had in a while, and I feel like our progress this season is the beginning of something truly great for Bills fans. Speaking of Canada, they also opened a new restaurant over on Allen St. specializing in all different kinds of poutine. Their menu is mouth-watering, to say the least. I have to check it out the next time I'm in town.
