Surprised it took me this long to make this thread but here goes.
In October I went on holiday to San Diego and saw the Chargers Browns game (yes they both suck I know). During the game two fights broke out in our section of the crowd. I also saw one lady taken out for being waaaaaaaaaaaayy too drunk.
Is this common watching live NFL games? I know its different to watching a Football (don't make me say Soccer) game here in England since away fans can sit with home fans and alcohol is allowed in the seating areas.

Cameras are usually never pointed in the stands if fights and such break out, and the stadium is so loud that you normally don't know when one breaks out or if there are rowdy fans. It's not like WWE where everyone chants and cheers during disputes or people throwing out and the hard cam shows the fans are clearly distracted and picks up fans chanting shit like "THROW THEM OUT!" or "LET THEM STAY!"
But disturbances at an NFL Game are I would assume fairly common, but never really reported unless they resulted in serious injury like someone falling from a Balcony or something which would really cause a disturbance or attention grab. In a big stadium, a fight usually doesn't draw the whole stadium to my knowledge anyway, but I would think they happen at almost every NFL game in some fashion... there are plenty of dumb sports fans out there...

I would ban alcohol at all sporting events since that seems to be the root of these fights.

I would ban alcohol at all sporting events since that seems to be the root of these fights. Well, that will never happen for obvious reasons. And a lot of these problem fans are tailgaters which isn't really under the scope of the venue anyway. I think it's on the venue as well as the fans to report and get these people out of the stadium when they start acting like drunk jackasses rather than waiting until they start a fight.

There isn't a benefit to it at all. That Family Guy episode gets it right, except I don't like the specific nationality reference. But it's a great joke for pretty much the global fanaticism with being a lush. So yeah, I'm behind ya.

10 bucks for a watered down Bud Light is all it takes for me to say no to drinking at the game.
I almost got into a fight at the Orioles Playoff game against the Yankees. This guy started getting real aggressive and I was just standing there.
Me: "Why do you want to fight me?" Guy: "You're an Orioles fan, right?" Me: "Do you think it's a good idea to spend the night in a Baltimore jail just because I root for a different team?"
Somehow, in his drunken stupor, he realized the logic and left me alone.

To piggyback on the "$10 for a watered down Bud Light", I don't tend to drink at concerts unless it's a local joint where I am just paying a cover charge and the beer is reasonably priced. But if I'm traveling close to an hour to Boston to a show I paid $30-$40 on, then I am there just to see that show and I am not gonna dull the senses that take in that experience. Now if I get back home early enough to where a local bar is still open. Sure, because then it's a nice reasonably priced cap to my evening. Just replace concert with game and it's the same deal.

If you can't watch a full NFL game without getting shit faced, then maybe you should stay home and evaluate the course your life is heading.

There are a lot of fights at Buffalo Bills games. I pretty much stopped going because it gets so bad.

Folks were wilding out after that Bengals game. If we actually won, there probably would have been a riot.
