I haven't been into them, but the movies have their fans and their cheese factor going for them. I hope they'll enjoy it.

I watched all 5 movies for the first time this past August. None of them are good, none of them make any sense or even really try to, but they're a fun time. I see no reason for the 'series' to end, and think the world deserves to eventually see 85 year old Milla Jovovich killing zombies in bullet time. These movies are so off the rails in terms of continuity that I think they can call this the final one all they want and still go and make another dumbass movie that makes no sense 2-4 years later.

I like the Resident Evil games (well, the ones set in Raccoon City).
I like Milla Jovovich.
Yet my hopes for this died about three movies ago.

I liked the first Resident Evil Movie
It atleast somewhat tried to be Resident Evil
The 2nd one started good, but got shit near the end.
Everything else has been complete Bollocks since.
So you'll excuse me if I'm not exactly counting down the months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds etc for this last one.

You know, I still have not played a single game of this series, and I also have not seen a single movie of this series. Not because I was not interested or anything. Regarding a game, I just don't know where to start, story-wise. As for the movies, I have read how bad they are, but for the series to reach its sixth and, allegedly, final film, it must have its fans. I have been curious about watching these movies, though. I am mostly open for anything, so I am sure that going into them with low expectations will be fine for me. I am sure that they are fun for what they are. There are movies that I have seen that I admit are bad, yet I still had fun watching them.

I like the movies. They are not good movie interpretations of the game series, but they are mindless fun. Do I have high hopes? No, but I should enjoy it.

I bet that stuntwoman who had her face degloved hasn't forgotten.
I'd like to think that reality wouldn't be so cruel as to have that accident happen AND to have the movie turn out shitty.

I bet that stuntwoman who had her face degloved hasn't forgotten. I'd like to think that reality wouldn't be so cruel as to have that accident happen AND to have the movie turn out shitty. My god that story is horrifying, especially how the film's publicity downplayed her injuries. Their story: “Olivia Jackson, a stunt performer on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, was injured during a stunt motorbike action sequence on Saturday just outside Johannesburg. Jackson, who is an experienced and accomplished stunt performer, sustained injury to her left hand and arm, head, face, and shoulder; she is now stable and under medical care. Our thoughts and prayers are with Olivia and her family during her recovery process.” Her story: "2 weeks in a coma, brain bleed, brain swelling, severed main artery in the neck, crushed & degloved face, several broken ribs, paralyzed arm, shattered scapula, broken clavicle, broken humerus, broken radius & ulna, with an open wound and a 7.5 piece of bone missing, amputated thumb, torn fingers, 5 nerves torn out of the spinal cord…. not my funnest day on set.” Note that they're calling her medically stable while she's in an induced coma. And for how terrible all that is, there's absolutely no way a Resident Evil picture will be anything but rotten nonsense. Hopefully it will be fun rotten nonsense but yeesh, it's gonna be hard not to think of that studio press release doing its best 1983 John Landis impression.

Not at all interested in every character being completely useless except for Alice who is the greatest and best person in the world.

I bet Mila forgot she was making it at well. At this point its got to be as mundane as walking the dog for her.

I do! Hopes that it will be hilariously stupid, mind you, but I do have high hopes. And I can't wait to see the new ridiculous ways Paul W. S. Anderson finds to make Alice even more of a Mary Sue and make everyone else completely incompetent. It's amazing how Jovovich's character in The Fifth Element, who literally IS the most important and powerful being in the universe, still comes across as less of a Mary Sue. I think it has something to do with this whole "her having a personality" thing. But mostly, I have high hopes for the Phelous review that will inevitably follow. I haven't been into them, but the movies have their fans and their cheese factor going for them. I hope they'll enjoy it. Honestly at this point, I doubt there's anyone left who watches them for anything but the cheese.

I never heard of the term degloved, let alone a degloved face. Google Images showed me some stuff that fittingly looked like the spreading of the T-Virus. That poor woman. Hey kids, don't google image search this if you're squeamish.

Hey kids, don't google image search this if you're squeamish. The description of "degloved" was enough to disgust and horrify me. I wouldn't dare image search that.
