3 Weeks ago I was running up a large set of stairs running and turning after about 5 minutes I felt pain in my hamstring and walking was uncomfortable and bending the knee going downstairs was difficult as the pain was at the back of the knee. It stopped for a few days and then when I walk straight it's fine but when I bend to go downstairs and upstairs it starts back up again and I'm unable to put much weight on it. I notice the pain goes from around the back to almost the front of the knee. When I sit back down it goes away.

See a doctor?

Sounds like you could have strained a muscle, or torn part of your meniscus. It'd be impossible to tell without seeing someone about it. So yeah, go see a doctor or physical therapist.

It's difficult for me to diagnose you considering we're online and I have no medical training or qualifications.

sounds sort of similar to my current situation which for me is a partially torn meniscus and have been using the RICE method to heal.

If you're unable to mend it with the RICE method, I'd highly suggest speaking to a doctor about it and having it examined. It could be a multitude of things.
Having us give you a diagnosis might be the worst idea right now.

Sounds like runners knee, I had it once when I was big into running. Walking on level ground was fine but uphill or downhill(mostly downhill) was arduous. But once again if you're seriously concerned with it have an actual doctor check it out.

As someone in medicine, joints like knees are impossible to diagnose without some type of scan because the pain presents the same way often for 100 different things.

It's difficult for me to diagnose you considering we're online and I have no medical training or qualifications. With WebMD and Google, everybody's qualified! Seriously though, see a doctor. That sounds pretty bad.

Early onset of boneitis.
Serious dude, go to the doctor if it's a problem. We are professional wrestling fans. What you need is not here.

Sounds like you need a knee replacement. This famous physician agrees with me: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}

I don't know if I should go straight to Accident and Emergency because I injured it 6 weeks ago but it keeps coming back.
