I have read some articles on how TNA is supposedly dying or struggling. I have read that the POP network acquired TV rights to Impact, and I wonder how long it will last on that network. I mean seriously, TNA is down to only a couple of PPVs a year. Is it really dying to the point that it may go out of business soon? I mean, seriously, for a company that has struggled for years, it has definitely lasted for nearly a decade and a half.

Those articles have been around for like 12 years.
It's also depressing to think it outlasted WCW.

Well, the thing is, TNA will limp on for as long as Bob Carter feels like funneling money into Dixie's little vanity project. It'll take Bob Carter no longer doing that to kill TNA.

It certainly seems closer to death now than it ever has... but Well, the thing is, TNA will limp on for as long as Bob Carter feels like funneling money into Dixie's little vanity project. It'll take Bob Carter no longer doing that to kill TNA. Pretty much this.

TNA is the Black Knight of pro wrestling. They survived things that killed off better wrestling promotions. No matter how many talents they lose. Network deals that go up in smoke. TNA keeps clawing along as long as Dixie's vanity dream of becoming a reality tv show star is in her head. TNA so close to death, they should be named Thanos.

Impact is the one wrestling show that I have seen moved to multiple networks since its inception. Yes, I know that Raw had moved to TNN/Spike in 2000, but they had been on USA longer than the Spike days, and they were on USA longer before the move. I know people will argue about Smackdown, it had never struggled like Impact had. Plus, WWE is way bigger than TNA ever will be, despite Dixie Carter acting like it is a big deal. First Impact had a TV deal with FSN, and it was on a bad timeslot, too. I mean I don't know if a lot of people are home at 3 p.m. on a Friday to watch wrestling. It had lasted on Spike for about a decade, so it had a good run, but with Destination America cancelling it and Pop having it, I doubt it will last longer.

At this point TNA is a mythical Chinese zombie. You keep knocking it down, but it gets back up for no reason.

TNA is on its 3rd network in 2 years, and in the past year or so have lost big names like Samoa Joe, James Storm, AJ Styles, and Kurt Angle. They've never been closer to death.

I want to say close, but we all thought that a year and a half ago when they got kicked off of Spike. And half a year ago when DA wanted them gone. I worry that one day Impact is going to just be Abyss and Jesse Godderz punching each other on a bunch of mattresses shoved together in Dixie's basement and recorded on an iPhone camera, but goddammit somehow it will still be kicking, and somehow they will remain enough of a notable plague to keep the rest of the industry from being able to move on, perception-wise.

In theory, it's already dead. TNA is the black sheep of the wrestling world, no one wants to be associated with it unless they have no other options. And between paying POP to stay on the air and POP being a nothing network, TNA moving to POP only furthers it's death spiral.

Right now there are comic book writers that think it's ridiculous how TNA has managed to not permanently die

I think it will always exist in some form. When Pop are finished with them I could legitimately see TNA advertising "HUGE DVD TAPING!" on their posters and the card being Abyss, Crazzy Steve, Eric Young, Manik and The Wolves with the rest of the card being local Florida independent guys.

You know how at the end of a Mortal Kombat match the guy stands there bobbing about while you try to do your Fatality move? A bit like that.

It's gonna take him croaking for it to end and he's up in his 80s, either Janice or Todd are pulling the plug once he does no matter how much of a tantrum Dixie throws.

I will add that I have been totally out of the loop when it comes to TNA for many years now. Yes, I will say that there had been times when I tuned into Impact when nothing else was on and this was when it was still on Spike. I thought to myself, "Who are the stars now?" I am not hoping for death on TNA, but I can't help but wonder if death is inevitable for the company.

At this point if TNA shuts down, it's going to be so quiet and anti climatic. Very few people knew of TNA during Spike years, even less know or care about it now.

I think that when they lost Spike, it was over.
To turn it around now would almost take a miracle. ie unearthing 2 or more Hulk Hogans

Probably, outside of the very distinct possibility, it often feels like, of some massive lawsuit or the IRS at their doorstep if they've been keeping it alive with "creative" bookkeeping.
