Did anyone else enjoy this? We had scabs like Dr. Tom Pritchard and I think Harvey Wipplemen as guest referees. Plus only Jimmy Korderas chose not to strike and he got his ass kicked by the other referees.

i'll agree with everyone (so far) and say that, yeah, i liked the basic idea of minor fed lifers being the scab referees, and it wasn't a terrible concept overall...however, there's no actual payoff that involves wrestling. i'm not saying we didn't get one, i'm saying there absolutely is not a payoff for this scenario that involves wrestling. hebner crossing the picket line to make a dramatic three count in a main event was a cool moment (and/or it was a moment that i only vaguely remember, but i'm calling it cool, cause, sure) but it wasn't a real logical payoff to the whole thing, it was just like...aaaand, that's over.
so, solid idea, but there's just nowhere to go with it, really.

Its one I really don't think they should replicate today, but for its time it was a good angle.

It resulted in this glorious moment so it's clearly one of the greatest angles in the history of our sport.

It would have also been nice if it really led to anything, because the idea was that the strike was allowed to disband on the condition that the WWF would no longer tolerate referee abuse, but HHH was beating up Hebner again in a few short months.
It was really written just to get the still-injured Austin into a referee role at the PPV, and it did lead to a cool moment where the Dudleys beat up Teddy Long at a ref strike because they were feuding with The Acolytes (Long managed Ron Simmons in Doom).
There's also the fact that I don't think referees could legally strike unless they joined Big Show, Mankind, Test, and Shamrock, but that's another matter entirely.

I liked the story of the refs going on strike but like a lot of good stories in the WWE it just ended suddenly and we never heard about it again.

It was unique, but I don't know what the result was.

This is basically it. It was a strangely well-worked angle, especially for 1999, but it had no payoff.

All I remember about this angle was that it stopped the British Bulldog from winning the WWF Championship. So I hated it.

I still remember seeing Sgt. Slaughter running to the ring before a Big Bossman match.

I still remember seeing Sgt. Slaughter running to the run before a Big Bossman match. A fond memory for everyone that saw it.

I just recently rewatched this angle on the network, I really liked that Shawn Stasiak became the official referee in charge of screwing Steve Blackman

I wonder why the video recap is still photographs. I find that very odd.
