Finally got around to watching the last episode of season 2. I actually thought the season was pretty good though of course nowhere near as good as the first. I'm looking forward to what season 3 could be about.

Love both.
Second season suffered from almost being too complicated for its audience. But I thoroughly enjoyed it.

One is fantastic. It has faults but I felt that a lot of the flak it got for its finale we're from people who bought into the fan theory hype about supernatural elements. The writer stated it was always going to be about the detectives and their relationship--I really enjoyed that aspect.
Season 2 falls flat because of direction. It probably would have been better with the combo of writer/director from the first season. I liked it more than most but dig noir stuff.

Season Two was a decent show in its own right but with the weight of expectations that came from such an amazingly crafted first season it failed to deliver hugely.
Season Two was kind of like television's equivalent of The Godfather: Part Three. It would have been a decent show/movie under any other name but given the expectation attached due to the high quality of the previous installment(s) it ended up looking like a bust.
I still enjoyed it though. If there is a Season Three I will definitely watch it but my anticipation has been massively tempered and will be nowhere near the heights it was when Season Two was announced.

I loved them both equally. Or almost so. The problems two had were because they lost one of the best directors on the planet. I also think that people wanted more murder mystery like the first season. However it was clearly a noir piece and vince Vaughn especially sold the noir part.
It was too different than the first season and so people dump on it. However the first season wasn't perfect either, it ended very anticlimactically. Where as season two started a little slow and went out with a bang.
Episode 4 of season one was one of the best episodes, sequences, shots, etc ever filmed.
And btw season 3 isn't even a locked in thing yet. But I hope it happens

It was pretty hit or miss to me, but I felt Vince Vaughn played a pretty good villain. He wasn't a villain, though. Love both. Second season suffered from almost being too complicated for its audience. But I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't think that's the case at all. The dialogue just sounds much worse when the story isn't as interesting and Woody/MM aren't around to sell it. Plus, Vince Vaughn was often just terrible and a fair amount of the plots were just stupid as shit.

Yes, he was.

That didn't make him a villain. He was absolutely a protagonist by mid seasonish.
