Bale is the Best Bruce Wayne. His Batman is weaker than Keatons, but not by much and his Bruce is a lot better Keaton Better as Batman than Bale in my opinion, but phones it in as Bruce Wayne.
Kilmer sucked. If not for Jim Carey, that movie would be as hated as Batman and Robin. Clooney phoned it in.

1.Adam West 2.Bale
The rest I do not care for. Keaton was a decent Bruce Wayne but bad as Batman. Kilmer and Clooney were horrible as Wayne and Batman. And I just do not count voice actors as the same as live action actors.Conroy was a good voice.

Did Bale ever play Batman?
I know he played a whiny ass billionaire who felt like he was forced to fight crime when he got strep throat, but I don't remember him as Batman.

Bale and Keaton are neck and neck for me really. Clooney, I think is an underrated Bruce Wayne, but he was a terrible Batman. Kilmer was dead average as both.

#1 Keaton: I liked Keaton's almost Howard Hughes style Bruce Wayne.
He really made it seem like he was less a socialite and more a deranged rich guy - which actually makes sense if you're a vigilante because you'd want to have no real friends/loved ones that a villain could use against you if they found your identity.
He also was very detached psychologically. He had that creepy thousand yard stare that made me think he really never recovered from a childhood trauma and indicated the level of obsession he had with his "mission."
#2 Bale: Bale, despite being a more nuanced actor who unfortunately gets typecast, played it more broad and straight-up with less nuance than you'd expect from an actor like him. His Batman was very flat and his Wayne felt like a flimsy caricature. At no point did I really believe him as Batman or Bruce Wayne (the socialite) (most of that is the direction though). He had a lot of angst though and came off kind of whiny and unlikable after a while.
That being said, Bale was working with what the director/writers gave him and I think he actually handled it pretty well. Nolan's really good at crafting complex worlds and twists and stuff (his level of craftsmanship as a director in this regard is amazing), but in terms of writing actual people...eh.
#3: Clooney: Shit movie, but Clooney knew exactly the kind of campy garbage he was making and played into it. He did what he could to make a terrible movie watchable with a smarmy enough Wayne and AdamWest-ish Batman. Not a great incarnation of either, but Clooney did what was best for the film.
#4: Klimer. Amazing actor, but he didn't give a shit about this movie and was filming Heat at the time I think, so who could blame him.

#1 Conroy- absolute perfection
#2 Bale- best Bruce Wayne
#3 West- captured the campiness of the era
#4 Kilmer- believable Bruce Wayne
I'm probably in an extreme minority, but I didn't really care for Keaton's portrayal. His Batman was good, but his Bruce was so weak it killed my interest.
