Everyone talks about the "ruining" of Becky Lynch, but what exactly did she do over there that everyone loved so much?
First she was a firey Irish dancer, then an Irish Lita, and now "Steam punk". She was generic face, random ass heel turn lacky of Sasha, non-existent face turn against Sasha, and that "other horsewoman". If anything she should have stayed in NXT and had Bayley called up instead considering that she was there for less than a year and with the only notable thing being "had that one good match with Sasha" and gushing over "Fergal" in that Finn Balor hype videos.

If Bayley was called up instead of Becky, then people would complain about HER being the only Horsewoman who didn't get a turn with the NXT Women's Title.

Did she talk nonsense about mutant dinosaurs or robot pirates hating the Miz on NXT?
If not I like NXT Becky better.

She had a match of the year contender that nobody was expecting and won over all of the fans with that match.

She had a match of the year contender that nobody was expecting and won over all of the fans with that match. The fact that nobody was expecting it is somewhat odd in hindsight given that she's possibly the best straight-up wrestler out of the four of them. Maybe still is today, it's almost neck and neck between her and Banks in that regard now.

Thats the difference between a gimmick (TL Hopper, early New Day, Glacier) and a CHARACTER (Stone Cold, Ambrose, Owens and yeah, even Becky)

You sort of answered your own question.
They took that feeling that she was a bit lost and moulded it into a storyline, Becky stopped trying to be something she wasn't, embraced who she is and gained the acceptance of the fans in the process. She had a few other good matches too, the fatal four way for instance. So it was good story-telling, she was having good matches, she had momentum, the fans were onside and everything was great.
Trouble is once she gained that acceptance she was off to the main roster, a place where character development isn't as strong and she was lost in the shuffle and a victim of the #divasrevoultion mess. I often point out that there was a video posted here that showed Becky and Paige doing a Shimmer entrance together that did more to sell their team than anything on Raw.
In a way it was like Sandow, people were invested in his feud with The Miz and his "real" promo afterwards but that momentum was soon wasted and he regressed back into a cartoon character.

I wish they had kept her in NXT a little longer. Bayley winning the NXT Women's title was THE right move to make, and it's not like the division doesn't need her as the foundation for it right now, since they had an influx of new women. Becky waiting a little longer would have probably helped, and I guess if they had to insist on their gang warfare storyline, give them Nattie, but hindsight's 20/20.
Charlotte and Sasha had kind of burned out anything they could do there outside of repeats, but I feel like Becky could have gone just a touch longer.

If they brought Charlotte and Sasha up for the #DivasRevolution, we could have done PCS vs Bellas for one PPV, then moved the f*** on.
I love me some Becky, but she and Bayley could've pulled off being 1A and 1B in NXT for a little while.

She had a match of the year contender that nobody was expecting and won over all of the fans with that match. Yeah, but having a good match isn't a character. It's not even a character trait, really, unless we're counting Dolph's "show-off" gimmick. I think that's one of the biggest failings of the #DivasRevolution. We all thought just letting the Horsewomen have good matches on the main roster was enough, forgetting that professional wrestling is first and foremost character-driven.

Bingo. Overthinking pro wrestling storylines is clearly making a lot of people way too cynical here. I thought she was perfectly acceptable in NXT. Lackey for awhile, then wanted to prove she's just an underling. Simple and I get it.
