It doesn't work without Clarkson. But he can't be brought back because he's an unprofessional asshole. The BBC should just ditch the show entirely and use whatever funding they gave it to produce a proper long term replacement for The Voice.

I know Charlie Brooker is a busy man but the lack of a new series of Weekly Wipe this year really pissed me off.
Someone needs to take a gamble and give Brooker a weekly show in the same vein as Last Week Tonight.

The 'Wipe' series(es) are one of my favourite shows as one beautiful run. |

I find it baffling how all these highly-paid, supposedly expert, television executives completely failed to see what made Top Gear so great was the chemistry between the 3 presenters and seeing 3 best mates just dicking around with cars. They somehow thought they could recapture it by just tossing a bunch of random people together. Then they made the mistake of giving the role to Chris Evans who nobody actually seems to like.
Should have got someone and told him to get two of his mates to present the show with him. Basically given him complete control over who to hire. Sabine is a good presenter, just have her take the role of The Stig.
Philip Glenister would have been my choice to present it.

Oh wait they did with Top Gear Australia. Yes, in Australia, there was not one, but two unsuccessful attempts to have their own version of the show. And both times it was unwatchable garbage, cause they focused on crazy stunts (on not nearly as the same budget the UK show had) and forced humor, and did not get any host that had any chemistry with the other. You know who did get it right.. The Americans. I thought Top Gear USA was actually pretty fun. They actually got it. Shame it's been cancelled. |
