My favorite part of today is listening to some Iowa football talking heads talk about how the Bison are on par with losing to a great Big 10 team like Ohio State, and how the Hawks still have a chance at the National Title. I needed a laugh. How drunk were they?

Holy shit, Nebraska's ranked 20th. What if they win their next 4 games, which could be possible. What would they be ranked by the time they face Wisconsin?

Not quite as drunk as the people that are still posting today that the Hawkeyes can run the table and be a slam-dunk #1 in the playoff Well technically they could, if they teamswapped with Alabama and won every remaining game by 30+.

Not like it's going to help them. That team is....not good Basically, Austin Kendall's comments didn't really sway the outcome of that game. >_>

Baylor still doesn't get it. They let Shawn Oakman into the locker room. When asked about it their coach said he doesn't know who that is I'm sorry, buy Baylor deserves the death penalty. I know that the NCAA are gun-shy to blast another program back to the Stone Age, but Baylor more than deserves it. The sheer number of sexual misconduct happening with players and the coaches and school staff are just looking the other direction needs to be punished. They killed SMU over paying players, which while breaking NCAA rules isn't really a crime. Baylor's players and staff are breaking actual god damn laws.

If the NCAA didn't bring the death penalty out for Penn State, and if they didn't bring it out for Baylor, then I don't think they ever will again. Because clearly the sanctity of the game is more important than the lives of countless young women and children. Love the sport, hate the people who run it.

It's not just that they're afraid of killing Baylor's entire football program, but it would also put the nail in the coffin of the Big 12. Oklahoma, Texas, Oklahoma State, and KU will have no problems finding big conferences to take them, but the other schools are going to find a tougher road, and the NCAA might be worried about what it does to those programs, because it will mean less money for them. Now do I agree with Baylor not getting the Death Penalty? Nope, I think the football program has to get it, but I don't think the NCAA will drop that bomb on another major division 1 program.

The "death penalty" will not be used again. Of any program that ever earned it, Penn state surpassed SMU by a wide wide margin in my opinion. I read an SI article that said it was actually on the table for PSU but they elected to crack em good but not kill em. The penalties have badly damaged the football program and the athletic dept in.general, but they can recover. It's like they fought a quick war, got stomped and drug but aren't being occupied. SMU however, was nuked and is only 20 yrs into a 80 yr recovery from fall out and infrastructure damage.
The NCAA won't use nukes again.

I think the only way you'll see the death penalty used again is if things reach levels of bad that are hard to comprehend without it sounding like I'm telling jokes in bad taste.
If Penn State deciding that Football was worth ignoring Decades of Child Rape didn't trigger it, what the hell do you have to do?

Baylor covering up a murder was not death penalty level. Let that sink in.

Rumor is that Clay Helton got punched in the face by one of his own players and that a bunch of players will transfer
