I just find him to be pretty boring honestly. I don't even really dislike him, but I don't care for him either. It's almost like he's just kinda "there" to me. I think it's his personality & promos that make me feel that way. He can have good matches, but I just find him boring. It's definitely not good for me as a viewer due to them pushing him as the main guy. I've been watching less & less as it is lately.

The personality is lacking pretty hard, yeah. When the promos are all about "I live for this. My family." type stuff, it's hard to get interested.
I don't think it's really him lacking personality, but as far as translating it to wrestling, we're not seeing much of it.
Overall, I like him more than I don't like him. But there's not that spark to him that makes me really care to root for him. The chosen-one stuff plays into it, but if he were more interesting I don't think that'd be an issue for me.

You're the only person here who feels like that.
Of course, others feel the same way. The emotions around here fall in every spectrum when it comes to Roman Reigns. I mean, this got to be the 6th Roman thread of 2016 and the year is only a couple days old.

I can't buy him as a dominant badass when he has such a silly smile.

I mean, this got to be the 6th Roman thread of 2016 and the year is only a couple days old. I haven't posted much lately the past few weeks/months so I wouldn't know. But it seems the fans in general are starting to get more behind him now compared to last year. The problem is their pushing him as the main guy, & for me as a viewer that's not good at all if I don't care about him. It's going to be like Cena all over again. I'm also just tired of them pushing the main guys as superheroes who rarely ever lose, especially if it's a guy I don't even care about to begin with. I just feel like it's so played out & boring. The Rock is really the only top guy that's never been invincible where he actually lost quite a bit & it still didn't hurt him. I'm starting to lose interest as every year goes by now. I usually have Raw on as background noise for the most part. Or I'll watch on DVR & fast forward through 75% of it.

I'm blah about him. He shows stuff that I enjoy once in awhile but then it's gone.

I liked him when he was the badass guy in the Shield who didn't talk much. Now, well... I try to ignore his promos and things go smoother.

A Reigns/Rollins double turn would be ace.

Honestly, I think the whole product is pretty much that way now. Roman does seem kinda bland, but I loved Rollins and they made him boring as hell too. Ambrose has seemed pretty stale as well for a while, compared to right before/right after the Shield split. I just think the writing is off. It's so lazy shoehorning the Authority into everything. I mean, look at Bayley and Sasha in NXT. Yeah, they are amazing talents. But there was no silly slant that anyone had to overcome or obstacles to go through. It was just competition. Everything had to get so convoluted for them writing with Cena that they've bled that through to Bryan and Reigns. It's silly. It's to the point where they shouldn't even have an opening segment because it's been the same for like 3 years. It's so hard to get guys over despite that template and monotony. Bryan caught lightning in a bottle, and Reigns got over for like 2 weeks. I don't even blame Reigns at this point. There's always going to be backlash when they choose one guy and push him to the moon. I think down the line when they do it with Crews, despite him being more ready and probably more likeable, he'll still get hated for being "their guy". It's unavoidable to an extent.

I like Roman as the monster he was when he kicked the crap out of Hunter.

My biggest problem with him as a singles guy has always been he's just...a dude. Up until they started giving him the Austin push last month, he had no real discernible traits. He wasn't very scary, he wasn't some powerhouse that can dominate everyone, he wasn't funny, he was just...there. His personality was whatever they wrote for him that week. He came off like an avatar.
At least now, he's the badass that doesn't take shit from anybody and isn't afraid to catch a body no matter who is in his way. That's not super complex but it's something for me to latch onto.

Just dull. A generic cookie cutter WWE wrestler who's gimmick appears to be that he makes his entrance through the crowd. And loves his family. In that respect he's a bit like Peter Andre. I have zero interest in him, and therefore don't care if he wins the title or loses the title. And thats an issue. Its not his fault he's been placed in the position that he's in - but I for one won't be watching his 'journey'.

Still think he is better suited to be a heel - in a stable with heel Usos. I think that would be pretty awesome.
At least they are sort of fixing his face character by making him more badass by not giving a f*** about the authority and repercussions of taking them down.

Roman is somehow both the Michaels and the Jannetty of The Shield. He broke out of the tag team and became a singles star and management's "golden boy" like Michaels, yet he hangs on to the old tag team gimmick (theme, entrance, gear) like Jannetty. I can't think of anybody else who has done that.
