It seems we always here about nice people or celebs that are "down to earth" particularly celebrities, because they would have more of a reason to not be it would seem.
So maybe you have some personal stories of those that are anything but down to earth.
And why aren't they? We don't want a name and no explanation
I'll go with an obvious one-Shawn Michaels at one time was NOT down to earth

Mariah Carey (I'm guessing) We don't want a name and no explanation Oops, missed that. Was "(I'm guessing)" enough of an explanation?

Not my story but according to my therapy instructor Sandra Bullock isn't very kind to her staff but very nice to fans and fellow celebs.

This thread was made for Gwenyth Paltrow. Yeah, she's one of those celebs who thinks she's down to Earth, and I think genuinely tries to be, but really hasn't got the faintest clue what 'down to Earth' even means.

Her health and lifestyle advice is usually terrible, often dangerous and always involves doing something that would be beyond the budget of most women. She also thinks of herself as a hard working mom, ignoring the fact that her wealth means she can hire help and take years off work whenever she pleases, and somehow thinks that the average woman can do the same. I don't think she's a bad person, but she's just deluded.

I just have a sneaking feeling that Will Smith's douchebag son might not be down to Earth.

Tai Lopez is not down to Earth. The man has 47 Lamborghinis in his Lamborghini account.

Chevy Chase is a notorious jerk. As a different thread pointed out, even the Comedy Central Roast of him became uncomfortable.

Something tells me that UFC star, CM Punk, is not down to earth. At risk of sparking another Punk debate... Why exactly?

At risk of sparking another Punk debate... Why exactly? Everyone and their brother having a story about how he was a dick to someone. Plus, how he acts with the common folk on Twitter from time to time. There's a difference between being a dick and not being down to earth, though. People like CM Punk and Jason Statham are just moody pricks and tend to be rude to anyone who annoys them, but they also seem like regular guys. Still down to earth, just assholes. Now Kanye West literally calls himself the Messiah, and Tom Cruise thought aliens caused Brooke Shields' depression. THAT is not being down to earth.

I just have a sneaking feeling that Will Smith's douchebag son might not be down to Earth. What do you mean? What part of attending the Kanye West/Kim Kardashian wedding in a solid white Batman suit seems not down to Earth?

I suppose the OP's misconception of being a jerk = not down to Earth opened up that can of worms. Being down to Earth is to live a life with a healthy dose of self-awareness, realism, and practicality. Whether you're a raging asshole or the nicest person in the world has no bearing on that. Punk's a down to Earth asshole, while Paltrow's a pretty nice but also extremely out of touch, impractical space cadet.
