I'll wait a few generations and a few price drops before I even think about doing that.
I'll get a nice monitor to replace my 720p TV long before I even think about VR headsets.

Not as bad as I expected, I figured it'd be around the $1000 mark for sure
EDIT: But there's no way in hell I'd drop $600 without getting to try one first

You still need a fast enough computer to run it, right? No thanks.

You still need a fast enough computer to run it, right? No thanks. Minimum requirements listed: NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater. Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater. 8GB+ RAM. Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output. 2x USB 3.0 ports. Windows 7 SP1 or newer. Not a budget computer by any means, but not outlandish either. $700 is probably doable if you already have Windows.

I continue to not see the appeal of virtual reality. Or the whole immersion thing in general honestly, I like a certain level of detachment from my entertainment.

Eh, there'd have to be some pretty great games that use the Oculus Rift for me to consider buying an entirely new computer just to use it. I don't think it's for me.

The GTX 970 alone will set someone back at least a couple of hundred. I actually heard some games would need a 980 or AMD's equivalent to run properly on the headset, which is absurd.

Kaz Hirai, if you please: As a Sony supporter, the mere mention of that price gave me flashbacks to this. That was a dark time.

Meh... let me know when the first porno is released for it Given the porn industry is usually the first in line to make use of new technology I'm wagering that's already happened.

I'd quite like virtual reality but it's something I'm content to wait for until the headsets are cheaper, don't require such good computers to dun, have had all the bugs ironed out (because come on, there's going to be some huge issues with the first one) and of course, until the prices are cheaper.

Expensive price aside, the Oculus Rift does sound like amazing tech. Though I think it'll need the Touch controllers to be released before it can reach its full potential.
