So we've seen more than one guy come with much hype and Full Sail approval to crash and burn to nothing on the main roster. They ruined Emma, pairing her with Santino for no reason. Xavier Woods sucked on NXT, but even he deserved better than "hey, here's R-Truth's friend." Neville is on the road to nowhere and Bo Dallas was relegated to jobberdom a few months after his debut.
So with the current batch of NXT hopefuls..who would be THE most depressing one to see fail? Who do you have your hopes pinned on as the next big star..if main roster creative/Vince don't mess it up?

If WWE somehow manage to ruin Bayley, and the odds of that are pretty high, I think I'll weep.

Bayley, absolutely Bayley. If she failed then I don't even know because it's bigger than the fact that she's the NXT Women's Champion. Bayley is the most loved person in NXT and she represents a large fanbase and she represents someone who's been there for a while, grinded to find themselves and has finally made it. She's the cornerstone of NXT and she's their prize possession so if she failed it wouldn't be like others failing.
It would be like a Zelda game failing sales-wise on the new Nintendo console. It's heartbreaking.

Bayley and Sami Zayn.
You cannot get easier characters to book than those two. Fun loving, sympathetic babyfaces that have great matches but are very white-meat and media friendly. If you somehow f*** them up, you are truly hopeless.

On paper, Bayley looks like a can't-miss prospect. She's basically John Cena for little girls, and if she can corner that demographic with the support of strong booking, she's a made woman for the rest of her career.
I hope beyond ALL hope that it works out.

I'll say ditto to Bayley and Sami. They seem to be such slam-dunks as incredibly likable babyfaces and yet I could easily see Vince not getting it and keeping both of them down.

I agree wholeheartedly with Bayley and Zayn, but just to be different I'll throw Enzo & Cass in for consideration. I honestly feel that Vince will have the bright idea of breaking them up so he can push Big Cass as a single's star, and I see that going about as well as it did when they split up Cryme Tyme.

I hope beyond ALL hope that it works out. With that in mind, it might be Sami Zayn over Bayley. Bayley IS the most depressing NXT call-up to screw up, but at the same time the women called up from NXT have been kind of disheartening. The only one of the NXT women who you could argue WWE didn't do everything right possible with was Sasha Banks (just because she hasn't gotten the reps the others have)- and you could argue they did more right with Becky Lynch than any of the others. Even seeming bad ones like Emma had the problem that "literally everyone's fantasy booking was 'she comes up in a feud with Fandango over who's the better dancer', and after her match with Santino it also became 'and with how good that was, throw those two together too'" With a track record like that, it still seems like the fact will be: 1- WWE will nail it and book Bayley exactly letter-perfect, get it down pat, and she'll be treated well in WWE. 2- Even if they do, it's not going to matter solely because the summit for women is lower than the summit for men, to the point it's going to SEEM like they failed with her.

Man this board is gonna break down when Bayley is relegated to one of the diva stables and amounts to just jobbing.

I don't really have high hopes for Bayley on the main roster anyway.

Came to post Bayley, good to see lots of Bayleyenites on here. I see much potential in Bayley, but it is true WWE's track record is a bit spotty.

I'm gonna echo the echo chamber and say Bayley & Sami Zayn. I pretty much fear for any fun-loving millennial wrestler under the direction of Vince McMahon

The divas division is such a ridiculously broken mess. What success could Bayley realistically find there?
Zayn I can see at worst being a mid card popular guy, like Neville is now. That's not main event, but there's nothing wrong with that place on the card.

Bayley would be way worse than Zayn.
There will be other cool white meat male babyfaces. Men's wrestling has way more tenure and effort and flexibility and time in its history.
Bayley is a once in a generation talent and has a segment of mainstream wrestling fans caring about women's wrestling. She has done things few or no other female wrestlers have done. If they f*** that up, it will be a long time before they will have that chance again. Hell, before she came along I didn't think they ever would have that chance.

WWE are going to mess Bayley up because they are a bunch of morons who insist on pushing their chosen divas rather than the ones people actually care about.
Bayley will be jobbing to Brie within 2 months.

Has anybody mentioned Bayley?
Seriously I worry about her potential main roster booking given the way they struggle with faces. Just look at the way they got a supportive crowd to turn against the faces by attacking New Day or the mess they made with Roman Reigns this time last year, they just don't get it. Imagine Bayley reading their awful "funny" lines or acting like a jerk, her ability to unite marks, smarks, young and old alike would soon fade.
Sami will face similar issues but isn't the once in a generation wrestler like Bayley could be.

If WWE somehow manage to ruin Bayley, and the odds of that are pretty high, I think I'll weep. I will be done as a fan if they screw up Bayley on the main roster. Triple H and the rest of the NXT crew have handled her rise from doe-eyed fan girl to champion so well that I would stop watching for good if they ruined her on the main roster.
