I get a kick out of how folksy he comes across as in his audio shows, as well as his Bret Hart-level dry sense of humor, which likewise leads to lots of unintentional comedy based on his delivery. He's the polar opposite of Wade Keller, who comes across as uppity and pompous, especially when he and Bruce Mitchell are going at it like an old married couple.
And on the subject of him insulting wrestlers, referring to the Warlord as the Warload will forever be hilarious.

I think Dave is hilarious. His dry personality leads to a lot of unintentional and intentional comedy.

I love listening to Alvarez talk about anything except current WWE. There, he's gone off that cliff like so many internet posters where he hates everything so much the hate contradicts itself. Like he hates 50/50 booking and unclean finishes, but he also hates when anyone loses clean. And he'll often complain about segments or match outcomes simply because they weren't exactly what he would have done - then he spells out his long-winded alternative booking plan. But, I also find him hilarious.

I always like when Meltzer gets on a tangent and any time Alvarez tries to move on he gets cut off by Dave continuing on with a loud "AND-AND-AND-AND-AND-AND-AND-AND-AND-AND-AND....." The Meltz has no patience for polite interjections.
Dave Meltzer is the only guy in wrestling journalism to me who I feel offers insight worth a dollar value and when he's done and finished I don't think we're gonna see another person with as much knowledge about the business spanning so many decades and cultures. I like Bryan Alvarez too but he's definitely a lot more sensationalist and "sky is falling" in his reporting, him and Dave are a good contrast and I like that Bryan is always willing to challenge Dave when they have different opinions.

I also just started subscribing and I don't blame him for this week's newsletter being late. Especially with the Cena news breaking around the time the newsletter is posted. At least since the early 80's. There's a thread on the board where longtime subscribers have been typing out their 80's newsletters. There's some from 1984, 1987, and 1988 Currently it's around the time Hogan's first WWF title reign ended. PWO? DVD?
