Injuries suck, but WWE is so much more interesting when its back is against the wall. It's like how the elevated liver enzymes epidemic made SD so much more interesting than it would have been a few years back.

Of course it can. Hell, last year's build was a dog's breakfast too, but we got a pretty decent WrestleMania in the end.

Just said it in the Cena thread, but this COULD be a more interesting WM if the injuries force them to stop falling back on part timers and the small number of full timers whom they've actually built to be credible (basically just Cena and Orton).
They could choose instead to make this WM much more about storyline and feud driven matches, book matches with actual, tangible consequences and meaningful outcomes, and probably still have room for a "great match for the sake of a great match" or two.
But WWE first has to overcome its chief weakness: it's inability (or unwillingness) to make things matter or have consequences. If they can't overcome that, then no amount of talented in-ring work will be able to compensate.

Whereas last year I was pessimistic, this year I'm pretty excited. WWE has forced to at least to something different. Looking forward to that Kane/Big Show Iron Man Match!

Well it should be good for Ambrose and Owens who I like but WWE's booking has killed my interest in them a lot. Rusev is with three guys who I don't care for at all so he won't be doing anything great. New Day is great but I honestly won't care about their match because they don't have another great entertaining team like them to work off of.
The Divas are probably going to steal the show if it involves Sasha/Becky somehow. And the rest of my favorite wrestlers are injured. So why should I really care about this Mania at all?
Yeah, it could be a decent 5 hour glorified Raw on a Sunday. But WWE needs to fix their shit so I can really care.

Could be, but most of the company's top workers (Cesaro, Cena, Bryan, Rollins...) are injured so others have to step up (if they get enough time and freedom, Owens/Reigns/Ambrose/Horsewomen/New Day/Usos will deliver!)

It could be great.
If anything, it'll be very different. With how things have been in the last year, different is very interesting at least.

Indeed, any one of us here could've concocted a better build with some crayons, wacky glue and 2 minutes to think about it, but the actual quality of the show stuck it up there as one of the most memorable Wrestlemanias in the last 15 years. Reigns/Lesnar had this electric tension to it that would've been hard to book, the ladder match was a slugfest, Orton/Rollins was a barnburner and Cena/Rusev was a solid tentpole holding up the midcard.

Not a single thing has been announced yet and people are writing it off because certain names may, or may not be there.

If nothing else, the build just got a lot more interesting.

People really liked last year's WM? I honestly thought it was pretty dull, with a few cool moments mixed in (e.g. Orton hitting the RKO to counter the curb stomp). Spent the whole Rock/HHH segment wondering when I had suddenly begun growing moss on my left leg.

I would like to see just once, a nice buildup to Wrestlemania without in-ring staredowns and sign pointing
I mean how the heck did they have Wrestlemania 3 without pointing to signs every 2 minutes!

Spent the whole Rock/HHH segment wondering when I had suddenly began growing moss on my left leg. Ever since WM 25 I've noticed that the majority of people seem compelled to like the most recent Wrestlemania, at least until the next one happens for the people who watched at home and until the next two Wrestlemanias happen for the people who were there in attendance. The more time and money people spend on it, the longer it takes. Every WM since then sees a drop in praise eventually whether it be a small degree (26,28,30) or a large degree (25,27,29) Wrestlemania 27 in particular is the funniest example since now it is widely hated, but go back and look at the opinions of people from right after it happened up until the now yearly "rank the WMs" thread right before WM 28. Most people thought it was good. You can pretty much guarantee that once WM 32 happens a large chunk of people are suddenly going to have a lesser opinion of WM 31 and then once WM 33 happens another large chunk will think lesser of it, regardless of how good WM 32 and 33 actually are. Even if Vince's panic over the injuries causes him to announce that WM 32 is going to just be 3 hours and 45 minutes of him waving his bare ass at the camera with "Thanks for the money, suckers!" written on his butt cheeks, you can be sure that at least 80% of people are going to come out of it claiming it was a great WM, not because they all realized they like the sight of Vince's ass, but because for at least 12 months they're not going to be able to admit "Whoops! That was a mistake! Wasted my time and money!"

No more safety nets on the E's booking?
Yeah, this could either be a fun mania, or by far the worst.

That said, I think that this year's WrestleMania COULD be good because they now have to look at the roster of guys they routinely bury and belittle and realize that you have to make due with them.

Why are we saying Cesaro's injury will make Mania bad? He'd probably be on the preshow anyways.

No
In days past, injuries would force them to step up their game and innovate.
Today, it means more Sheamus, Big Show, Kane, Jericho, Big Show, HHH, Stephanie, Vince, Big Show, and Alberto.

They keep spewing the shit about grabbing the brass ring.
This year, things are positioned to actually let some guys take it. Just give them the opportunity. It has the potential to be a great show if they use it to create some stars.
