I personally agree with his viewpoint but the fact that he even felt the need to respond and go "you didn't like my promo? You just don't get it, bro" is pretty damn lame. What a cornball.

Chris, I got that you basically quoted your first promo with the company, but the thing that made that promo genius was that the company was the hottest it had ever been, so people laughed when you said business was in the toilet and that the company needed a shot in the arm.
When you say it in 2016 with the company creatively in the toilet and all those arrogant statements are about as true as ever, it's just sad.

I agree with the sentiment but he's better served to just not acknowledge the bitching.
Though he could be turning into the skid with the online backlash he's received and parlaying that into a heel turn.

Eh, if I was Jericho, I think I'd just have said "At this point, you guys aren't going to like it no matter what, so I'm just going to do whatever and see where it goes."

So basically, "You didn't like what I did? Well eat shit, I'm going to be even more obnoxious!"
The less I see and hear of this waste of space, the better.

"Go watch some Kierkegaard" might be the funniest thing Jericho has ever said. This did just make me laugh out loud, loudly. (LOLL)

As probably one of if not the most vocal Jericho haters, I feel the need to reply (that and I am bored at 1am).
Chris, it is not the surprise returns, it is the lack of a surprise. The formula is always the same, you do an interview and randomly talk about how you aren't talking to or working with WWE, people knowing its crap react with a "Yeah, sure", you run people down for not trusting you after your legendary career and then show up on RAW and go "Gotcha ya". Then you go into the same act you've done for the better part of 20 years, post photos and videos of you getting plastered with the current roster and wonder why not everyone things you're oh so cool.
You're talented, you can be damn good but after nearly 2 decades of the same act, I am tired of seeing you darken WWE. That is why SRS Jericho is remembered so fondly, you changed it up and gave us something different. So Chris, to sum it up, change it up or I'll continue to change the channel on you.

I don't really have an issue with Jericho. I think even bothering to reply was a waste of his time, because people who dislike him aren't going to go "Oh, that's a good point". They already do not give a shit if the crowd chants it, same with the complaints about Tater Tots when the crowd ate that up.
People are interested in what they, personally, care about. Whether or not a single person in that audience likes it only really matters in the context of if it lines up what they, personally, like. If they don't like a performer, or a segment, "What the crowd thinks" lies in their list of priorities just under "does the concession stand sell nachos? I am watching on TV, but I am still curious" in terms of shit they care about. It's a complete non-factor. If you don't like a brand of chips, pulling out the sales won't make anyone go "Wow, that many people, huh? I suddenly don't dislike them anymore".

I wonder what the reaction would be if you went back to, say, 2001 and told the then IWC that in 2016 Jericho would be hated by the IWC?

He's always been like this, he's surprisingly thin skinned for someone who's been in wrestling for 20 years. There was his King of the Ring match with RVD, where he went online and moaned at everyone who didn't think it was a 5 star classic for the ages. Then there was his podcast with Stephanie, where even though he was promoting it himself as "WWE can't hold me back" etc. it was the fluffiest thing this side of a Care Bear, he went online afterwards to complain about haters who were expecting something hard hitting. That's off the top of my head, pretty sure there are more examples.

You know... I'd take John Cena back in exchange for Jericho.

Well up until his heel turn, I think a lot of people may have agreed. Jericho got very stale between mid 2000 and late 2001. Seriously, I had trouble finding anyone I thought was more annoying than Jericho during that time.

We can give this decision a proper and fair assesment when one of the IWC is caught on national television aged 45 wearing a vest without a shirt, skinny jeans and Robin Hood boots

Jericho in 'obnoxious, overbearing, self-important asshole' shocker.
I guess the best heels really do just play themselves.
