New Japan Pro Wrestling has gotten a lot of praise, especially recently having a resurgence of sorts from 2012 to currently, with the heralded NJPW trio of Tanahashi/Okada/Nakamura and the popular gaijin stable known as the Bullet Club, along with AJ Styles, has given New Japan notoriety by hardcore wrestling fans as one of the best Pro Wrestling companies in the world. But, with all great things in wrestling history, there have always been and will continue to be things companies that they get wrong and things that make you go LOL (i.e. LOLTNA & LOLWWE). So, to begin, I will list some:
-Antonio Inoki's hard on for MMA almost putting New Japan out of business. -Ruined Yuji Nagata as a legit top/number one guy by making him fight Fedor & Mirko Cro Cop, almost killing Nagata. -The whole Bob Sapp push in general imo and him getting stripped of the IWGP HW title for losing an MMA fight to Kazuyuki Fujita. -The stop and go pushes for Ibush, Shibata, and Goto. -The crowd dumping on Naito when he was babyface after winning the G1 in 2013 and getting the Roman Reigns treatment so bad his title match at Wrestle Kingdom vs Okada got pulled from the main event for Tana/Nakamura for the IC title. -The sword fighting scene between Great Muta vs Goto at WK II in 2008. -Drugged up Jeff Hardy defending his awful TNA designed belt vs Naito at Wrestle Kingdom in an awful match.
These are just some, add on more LOLNJPW moments from the past and more things you felt NJPW got wrong you would like to discuss and talk about.

Nakamura's chokehold on The IC Belt. Holding onto it at the expense of other talent who needed it far more than he did. Wanna know the last time he wasn't involved in a title match with it?
June 28th, 2013. La Sombra defending against Volador Jr. in a CMLL event.

Choshu's disdain of Otani as an heavyweight Hashimoto's "retirement match" against Naoya Ogawa Just Naoya Ogawa in general Tadao Yasuda in general Tenzan never having a proper title reign Losing Muto, Kendo Kashin and Satoshi Kojima to AJPW Bringing in "WWE Rejects" before TNA made that out of style (Matt Morgan, Mark Jindrak, Charlie Haas, Sean O'Haire, Ron Waterman, etc.) That time the Dudleys wrestled in Wrestle Kingdom against Yano and Makabe

I know that the feud is highly regarded and I think that made great business, but to this day, I still found stupid that Inoki made Ogawa squash Hashimoto in 5 minutes in a way that everyone thought it was a SHOOT, only to had hasimoto ask for a rematch this time as an MMA fighter

- Minoru Tanaka as HEAT. Liger successor, my ass. - Great Muta II. Oh lord this sucked. - That whole early 2000's flirt with MMA.Bas Rutten in New Japan was an interesting idea, but no. - Tadao Yasuda. Bad wrestler, troubled guy. - I wasn't fond of the Makai Club.

Not familiar with that time period, but it basically sounds like Inoki pretty much was doing the same sort of clueless directing of NJPW as Vince arguably is doing now.

Let's not forget Riki Choshu Final Power Hall where he wanted his retirement on the 4th january show wrestling 5 different matches winning four of them. Needless to say, he quickly returned

The whole Junior Tag division being a gaijin team carousel has to count, right? Isn't it basically the same 3 teams just trading the belts in a circle?

I don't know but Hirooki Goto being built time and time again as a credible threat to the IWGP heavyweight title and always losing has to be up there. Hell, in the build-up for a title match with Okada, one of the focus points was that Goto has gone 0-7 when fighting for the title.

I like Kenny Omega, but the Bullet Club guys thinking he would be a better leader than AJ seemed kinda dumb.
Although I guess they did the same thing when they wrote Balor out of the storyline.

The whole Junior Tag division being a gaijin team carousel has to count, right? Isn't it basically the same 3 teams just trading the belts in a circle? The last time one of Roppongi Vice, the Young Bucks or reDRagon weren't the team holding the belt was about a year and a half ago, and that was still a half-gaijin team (Time Splitters, with KUSHIDA and Alex Shelley). The last all-Japanese team to hold the belts was Suzuki-gun's team of TAKA and Taichi in October 2013.

Tanahashi vs Okada best of 48388348 series, Meltz can rate the matches with all the stars he wants, and i love both guys, but for me, that feud is already beyond stale at this point.

- The Kingdom in general (save for Maria) - Poor, poor Katsuyori Shibata getting the shaft time and time again. - Okada crying after losing to Tanahashi, and Tanahashi bragging about it. - Suzuki-Gun getting punted to NOAH. Minoru Suzuki arguably deserved an IWGP Title run. - Sending Okada to TNA. He never stood a chance.

Tanahashi's irrational hatred and burial of Shibata if that counts. I love Tanahashi, he's one of my all time favorites, but he's kind of a dick.
