So are Diva's over the top rope in Battle Royals now?

Just finished watching NXT and I noticed that the diva Battle Royal match had the girls going over the top rope instead of through the middle rope, which has always been the norm as far as I can remember.

Is this a permanent change, or has it happened before?

If they want to take a respectable step forward for the women of the main roster, then they would make the same move.

I'm actually fine with the ladies not doing over the top eliminations because many of them are short enough that getting over the top rope safely is an issue.

It may not have been size as much as the fact they were never trained on how to take top rope bumps, while this new crop is being trained to wrestle in a much more general style than "like a diva", and thus are learning to take the harsher things.

That was the reported reason why they changed the rules originally on the main roster.

Victoria's battle royal eliminations always scared me.

Edit: Actually, I just later remembered that she went under the middle rope when she'd get eliminated, but I still thought the backflip bump looked dangerous.

A lot of the women still took their eliminations over the top rope though even when they didn't have to. I honestly think it was more just the fact it's easier to throw somebody somebody through the middle/bottom rope aka the women can finish the battle royal in 3 minutes.

Now that the female roster, on both shows, are wrestlers (ability notwithstanding) it should be over the top. The weak sauce out of the ring any way was obviously for the benefit of women hired just for their looks and complacency to be in Playboy. You could let Kelly Kelly or Torrie be gentley rolled out of the ring.

It's hard to tell if it will be a permanent thing or one off since this battle royale's all finish relied on both Eva Marie and Carmella going under the rope earlier in the match
