Or, when you think of a character, what artists do you most associate them with? With Superman, I usually think of Curt Swan's or Alex Ross's designs. With Batman my mind usually goes to Neal Adams's first. I think my favorite Captain America artist is Jim Steranko, followed by Kirby as a close second. With the X-Men as a whole I think of John Byrne's stuff. If I had to pick a favorite Sonic artist (yeah, of course I was gonna mention him too), I'd go with Ben Bates.

Cyclops I usually think of 90's Jim Lee. Mainly because I always thought he looked way better without the dome. Though he never seemed to be able to figure out if the communicator holder was just regular metal plates or pouches

The definitive look for Spider-Man is Mark Bagley's in my book: The Avengers art duo of John Buscema and Tom Palmer is unrivaled:

Toss up between Tom Morgan and Sean Chen for Iron Man.
X-Men I tend to think of Jim Lee, but that's because the animated series drew heavily from his stuff.

For me, the definitive Spider-Man will always be John Romita (Sr.): {Spoiler} Agree with the Byrne X-Men, and will also add the Byrne Fantastic Four: {Spoiler} Silver Surfer? Ron Lim: {Spoiler} Always been partial to Sal Buscema's Hulk: {Spoiler} As for DC, I have to go with George Perez' Teen Titans above all others: {Spoiler}

Or, when you think of a character, what artists do you most associate them with? My favorite or the one I most associate with them? Two very different things. For instance, my favorite Captain America artist is Kieron Dwyer, but Kirby's who I most associate with him.

Like I mostly associate Superman with Swan, but my favorite artists of him are Alex Ross, Neal Adams and Darwyn Cooke.

Nick Roche is by far my favorite modern-day Transformers artist, just for how emotive he's able to make the characters while still making it clear that they're, you know, mechanical. And for vintage Transformers, there's something unique about Geoff Senior's chunky, geometric style that really hasn't been done well before or since. One TF artist whose stock I feel has fallen is Don Figueroa, who if you went back to 2006ish was probably the most-lauded Transformers artist of the modern period, and I think that's mainly because while he introduced arguably the modern aesthetic for Transformers comics, other artists since then have done the same aesthetic arguably better or with more nuances that make their styles stand out better, while poor Don just winds up looking kind of generic. The fact that the last work for IDW I remember him doing is that lousy "new style" which clumsily tried to mesh together the Michael Bay aesthetic with the G1 style, doesn't help.
