What a way to make your big bad ass look like a little bitch.
If he's good enough to walk out, he should be good enough to stay, or at least throw any little medical advisor on his ass for trying to make him leave.
If Roman was going to need that break, he should've been stretchered out completely knocked out. Making him walk out willingly makes him look bad and does him no favors.

Yeah in attempt to make him look like a BADASS BIG DOG by refusing help... He still looked like a bitch not getting back in the ring.
Kevin Owens' leg didn't work and he jumped in.
Then Roman was just totally fine when he sucker punched Sheamus.

They're constantly doing that with Reigns. They're so attached to the MAKE HIM LOOK STRONG thing that they refuse to recognize when that just makes him look worse, like how at Survivor Series by shrugging off the first Brogue Kick and getting up to fight Sheamus head-on he looked like he was in a straight fight with a guy who'd been triple-teamed earlier and straight lost instead of like a victim.

Don't forget "ROMAN'S SLEEPING *Clap Clap ClapClapClap*" at SummerSlam. Either sell the beat down and stay unconscious, or don't take a five minute nap in front of an NYC crowd. They want to hate you, don't give them a reason to.

Yeah this is a real problem. The fact that Reigns basically got out of going a full 60 minutes is something that the crowd refused to buy into. Dean Ambrose was beaten to pieces last night but he stayed in the fight. The problem is that Reigns stayed out way, way too long for this to work. He basically skipped out on half the match rather than just maybe 5 minutes and then he comes back. I don't get why they don't institute a rule where if a guy can't continue then he is eliminated. Guys shouldn't be allowed to just bail on the match for 30 minutes and then waltz right back in.

It made no sense how he went from crippled to suddenly being even fresher than when he started the match. He went out holding his arm and then returned with a f***ing superman punch of all things!

Corny and predictable but it didn't detract for me. My kids liked it, it was new to them.
Really got the feeling they did it so he could rest and not get the "Roman's Sleeping" chant again. Dude has issues in longer matches not looking lost and gassed.

I was more dumbfounded by someone not rolling him in the ring and tossing him after the LON beating than the EMTs and Doctors ordering him to the back.

I didn't want Reigns to win as it was, but it defintly looks bad that he got to sit out over half the Rumble then come back and try to be the hero. It's happened before him and it'll happen again. They should have a Rumble rule that you have so much time to return if you leave the ring uneliminated. I'm glad he lost (though its more like he doesnt have it until Mania), but if he had, I'd like to hear them defend or gloss over how he won.

Reigns' was fine. The EMT's were acting under orders from HHH.

If I had the slightest bit of faith in the writers, I'd presume that this was a deliberate attempt to work an anti-Roman crowd. They do a blatant and obvious courageous hero story, only to have him come back and get eliminated anyway.
Also, remember when mega-heel Miz got hurt during a Rumble, and he then ran back in like a bad-ass, even though we were supposed to hate him? That was the time the logic behind him being a heel was because he was an outsider underdog. This is the same kind of bewildering booking as then.

Roman gets so many lucky breaks, byes, and free passes that for a world-beating face, they sure do like to book him like a perfect chickenshit heel.

Am I crazy in remembering that he walked up to the ramp on his own, then decided to lay in the stretcher for a while, but then got up and started walking again? It's like Roman Reigns the character was trying to make up his mind on what was more badass and just couldn't work it out.

I think they had him on the stretcher a ways, then he got up and walked just fine. Really, outside of my own personal bias (the physical elimination of Dean Ambrose was lame), I think that Roman's exit and reentering the match was a big ol' failure. If he's not physically capable of being out there the entire time, THEN DON'T PUT HIM IN THE #1 SPOT!

They probably didn't want him laying there because we've seen that last year, and this was their way to remedy that. As a fan it's too bad Roman isn't 100% over wherever he goes because the one vs. all gimmick was a pretty cool idea and I think it would have been fun to see Roman run the gauntlet and have a war of a Royal Rumble for himself. It didn't feel like he went through hell by the end of it, and I don't think anyone that night was willing to watch him go through hell. They sort of did the right thing but sort of didn't, ultimately I think if you have to hide your future top guy because you don't want him to get booed out of the building it's hard to argue that this person should be your top guy.

Unless this leads to Reigns being in cahoots with The Authority and League of Nations, this was a useless thing to do. This company wants Reigns to be some badass, a guy who takes all the damage you can give him and still dishes it out and yet when something like this happens the guy's walking to the back under his own power to sit down and have a Gatorade. If that were Ambrose, he would have went back to the ring. If that was Owens, he would have went back to the ring. If that was Austin, the guy they're trying to connect this angle to, he would have walked back to the ring. Walking to the back under their own power is something heels and midcarders do. Not the guy you want to be the supreme badass main event face.
I just don't get it man.
How can one night bring all of the negatives this guy had back to light like that? They tried so hard correcting him but it feels like we're back to square one.

The whole segment was infuriating. Reigns was going to lose anyways. They should have really made it a screwjob. The League of Nations just finished beating him down, and they LEFT HIM THERE.
Throw him back in the ring! Vince waves off the medical guys, and Big Show can just pick up Reigns and drop him over the top rope.

This is something I also hated about the narrative. I get that he was attacked, but it IS a No DQ match essentially. All the big star did was take a 15-20 minute breather while all the mid card guys continued to battle in the ring, while being double and triple teamed...avoiding being demolished like that.
