Maybe he was reaching the end of the Woody Allen movie "Stardust Memories".

"Oh my god, it's Tsudrats!" "That's Stardust spelled backwards!" "Don't let him hear you call him that!" "Guys, I wasn't at the meeting and I don't get this." "King, you didn't hit the mute."

Finish what you started, kid. Nevermind. Quit while you're behind, son.

I hope this is because the gloves cross thing he does which is also the signature of Styles. AJ's gloves have huge merchandising potential. As for Cody, I like him but soured on a bit after his comments on that tough enough guy. Because he was following the protocol of the brotherhood of pro wrestling by defending his brothers in the business against a contest winner using inside terms? That made you sour on him? Eh. Made me like him even more. made me dislike him too "go isolate yourself and get changed in the hallway" because some kid made a stupid mistake is never justified, irrespective of what the archaic hardcore holly scripture of pro wrestling dictates

Every version of Cody Rhodes is the definition of slightly above average vanilla. He's okay. But there are guys who are better than him in every single way.

The Military. Cops. Gangs. Businesses. Theater troops/actors. Sports teams. Pretty much any job. A camaraderie builds and inner-working infrastructure of respect and loyalty and hard work develops. So when a rookie comes in and is condescending, patronizing, egotistical or just plain showing a lack of respect to Cody, to Axel, to Bray, to Cena, to Austin, Rick Rude, Shawn Michaels, Daniel Bryan, Angle, Guerrero, Taker, d'lo Brown, etc etc etc, he deserves to be put in his place. Be humble. Show respect. And he should be glad he's living in a PC, whiny, SJW sensitive time because from the stories we've heard it would of been a lot worse back in the day. ...And on Cody. Ditch the gimmick and make him a main event we already, please.

Here's the thing, Josh hasn't even put in the hard yards to make it to the Performance Center since he won his contract on a reality show, he then called out senior workmates (that are all popular and respected backstage) in a public setting and got called out for being a dickhead in return.

Stardust was 1) a fun refreshing face character and 2) an excellent foil for Goldust that got us back to Dustin's absolute strengths.
Taking away both and not replacing it with anything else (save that two-week period where Barrett was with him as the cosmic king) works directly against everything Cody brings to the table with it.

Cody should really join the Wyatt Family. Goldust could feud with them and try to unbrainwash Cody from the Wyatt's (Cody can only grow a mustache though, not a full beard) and they can do a whole thing about Cody seeing Bray as a replacement for Dusty and cross several lines of good taste before culminating at Wrestlemania in a Casket Match

They're going to give him a born again Christian gimmick. He's going to burn his Stardust outfit on stage while a fan screams homophobic slurs at him.
