Post by EoE: Well There's Your Problem on Jan 31, 2016 6:20:13 GMT -5
So, NXT ran two shows today, one in Detroit, MI and one in Venice, FL. This was the card for the Detroit show... The other card from the Venice show looked like this... With a lot of unfamiliar names on show (I counted 11 of them who are yet to appear on NXT TV, including three who were making their HOUSE SHOW debut), and a fair few of the remaining wrestlers mostly being TV enhancement talent, this second card reportedly left some fans disgruntled... But it looked like a lot more were disappointed in that seeming minority... Is this really just a case of a couple of bad apples developing an entitlement complex and/or trying to cause trouble? Or is this a legitimate issue that Triple H may have to address and nip in the bud before it really becomes a problem? If so, what's the solution? Is it as simple as not running Florida shows on the road trip weekends? Maybe it could be trying to use these guys more on TV to breed familiarity and give them shine for simply being on TV? For a lot of these talents, since they don't get used on TV, this is the only chance they get to work in front of a live crowd. EDIT: For what it's worth... HOLY SHIT, it's Fauxman Reigns.

Why not just half the main event/known talents between both house show . Making both shows a combination of known talent and the lesser known talent.

I think the people who got the 'B Show' have a legitimate gripe. You watch certain wrestlers every week, you being emotional invested in them and enjoy how they perform and then you go to a show and have almost none of that?
Now chanting that directly at the performers is disrespectful to the performers in my opinion so the point is valid but poorly made
Why not split the more known talents between the two shows? I'd have thought that'd have been common sense

That B show Card....wow erm yeah I'd be a bit miffed if I went to an NXT show and got that. But luckily I got NXT London instead

Haven't the Florida cards always been more geared towards getting the non TV faces some time in front of a live crowd? If so, can't say I really get the complaints. They still got Asuka/Emma plus they get to see dudes like La Sombra, Swann & Girard before they break onto TV.

My main question is why that main event on the first half is so ridiculously stacked in this scenario. Send Crews and Corbin to headline the B show and it'd help a lot right there. Particularly if you put some of the nobodies on the B-show on the A one instead, half-and-half it.

Aren't the Florida shows dirt cheap and in much smaller venues? I'd be thrilled to watch Asuka vs Emma in a 200-capacity venue, plus they got Blake and Murphy, Bull Dempsey, Rich Swann and a load of the women who've been on TV. If NXT is gonna tour regularly, and have a much bigger roster as a result, the Florida shows are gonna be pretty short on star power. How else are the rookies gonna learn how to perform in front of crowds? Or the indy/international hires learn how to do it 'WWE style' before they go in front of the cameras? Plus the Florida fans get to be smug in seeing these people before the rest of the world and knowing who the hot prospects are.

Cheaper tickets, intimate setting, Swann, Biff, Blake & Murphy and a 20-minute Kana vs Emma main event... the smarks should've been happy.
Unless the show was marketed to have other talent the chanters should shut the f*** up and be thankful they're not in New Zealand.
That being said, I know they need the bigger names outside of Florida but they could've switched a match. Maybe given the B show Zayn/Dillinger as it's semi-main and the A show Knox/Dawkins as it's opener.

A lot of the NXT dickriders don't realize that NXT does house shows in Florida every week with mostly newbies working them. So the B show chant is f***ing stupid. That is the problem with NXT. People forget that it is developmental not a rebellious super indy. All some want is the big stars doing their greatest hits instead of giving the newcomers a chance because you don't know them.

Chanting that is f***ed up. You should just leave it's developmental and they need the crowd to work off of to see what works and what doesn't.
Personally I would be pissed off at that card with the only good match being Askua vs Emma. But they should have done their research to see who is getting booked where. They need to make the star power 50/50 for these shows.
Why in the hell would you waste the 4 main guys in that main event for one show? That's stupid.
It should be split up like this. Joe Apollo Enzo and Cass Vaudevillains Baley Nia Jax Sami Zayn
Other show Balor Corbin American Alpha Dawson and Dash Askua Emma Tye Dillinger

The Florida tours have become the AA-ball of NXT and have been since it really blew up to make fans think it's a super-indy. Complaining now that it's not the national touring roster is pretty much them being a few bad apples with an entitlement complex who want NXT to explode but also want it to be their toy.
If they're going to whine about this being a B-show, next time a national touring stint happens they should take Dawkins, Kay, Royce, BAMF, Asuka and Emma with them as well and really give them something to whine about while really helping the Florida shows become a good AA-affiliate to the NXT TV/national tour.

It has been this way for a while, and it has been plainly stated that way. What a bunch of entitled douches.

Then I guess those sucky babies need to get their sucky baby refund for their hard earned 20 freakin dollars.
If these indy lovers were so smart, they would read who is set to appear, know who is touring, and keep their shit attitude at home.

At first when I looked at the two shows, I did think "yeah more is definitely more stacked than the other."
But then I looked closer and saw that BAMF guys, Swann, Girard (I didn't recognize Busick's new name), Kay, Royce, and Sombra on the card as well and felt it wasn't as lopsided. Plus there was Asuka in the main event, which is a awesome. I mean, in a year or two when Andrade, Swann and Busick are on Takeovers, and Kay and Royce are tearing up the Women's division, these same fans that were complaining are going to be bragging that they saw this show.
And think about it, if you're Hunter and you want NXT to grow into a legitimate brand, you're going to put your bigger show on in the new territory to grab the new fans and build brand loyalty.
Same with the main roster. If WWE is going to have two house shows in a night, one in a Havana, Cuba (hypothetically speaking, this being an "new" area few foreign entertainment acts have been) and one in Jackson, Mississippi, you'd bet that they would have as many of their heavy hitters as they could muster on the Cuba show, and a "B show" in Jackson, probably with one or two top card folks and then some "unknowns" , aka a bunch of the talent that were at the Detroit NXT show from last night.
It's smart business, and at the end of the day the Florida show was a damn decent card for a developmental show, with a good mix of NXT's developing and name talent.

The main roster pulls this trick all the time when they have two house shows on the same day. One show gets the A-talent, one gets the B-talent.
I think it was last month where there was a live Raw and a house show happening at the same time? The only Champion on that house show was Charlotte. The main event was The Dudleyz and Kane vs The Wyatts.

What are they going to do when Balor, Joe ect get called up to the main roster? It's developmental, be happy you get to see some of them at all.

Sounds like when I went to NXT Jacksonville and the only talent there were Vaudvillains, Kalisto, and Baron Corbin. Chad Gable was there but mind you this was in February of 2015 so it was before America Alpha. Haven't been to an NXT show since.
