Myers has had writer's block regarding Austin Powers 4 for a decade plus now And for that I am thankful. Considering people are threatening to boycott Zoolander 2 for having a comedic androgynous model character, I couldn't imagine the kind of controversy a new Austin Powers movie would get.

The only way another Austin Powers could work IMO is if they parodied the modern Bond or Bourne flicks instead. The time travel plot is pretty much played out, and that's from someone who liked The Spy Who Shagged Me.

Sarah Holcomb. Maggie in Caddyshack and the Mayor's (underage) daughter in Animal House. She made 3 other movies - Caddyshack being her last - fell into drugs & alcohol and suddenly suffered from schizophrenia. She vanished from Hollywood, and now lives under an assumed name. bobbyderailed.blogspot.com/2007/01/sarah-smiles.htmlThis isn't true. She was never famous.

As far as acting goes, Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and up until Goosebumps, Jack Black. Also, apart from Dumb and Dumber To, you rarely see Jim Carrey either, or he is often unrecognizable like in Kickass 2, it's weird to see these once comedy giants rarely appear in movies now. In regards to Carrey. Following the marketing boycott he pulled on Kick-Ass 2, I doubt any studio would want to use him again.

I'd say Rick Astley. Dude was a massive star in the UK and was making inroads in the US. The story is he was just in a car going to an event, he just told them to stop, got out and gave it all up. He came back with the whole Rickroll thing, but he had the talent to be MASSIVE at the time. I remember seeing him in an interview around ten years ago, around the time the Rick Roll thing was really taking off and he said how he hated it and it made a mockery of his work. A normal person would have seen this for an opportunity at a comeback.

Dave Chappelle vanished after the third season of Chappelle's Show, or how far into the show's run did he just disappear? He became a recluse for a good amount of time after that. Technically he disappeared before season 3. He filmed all the skits, but because he 1)wasn't comfortable with where the show was going and 2)felt the show was ruining his stand ups (which was his real passion) he refused to film the actual show portion. So the real reason he disappeared was because of the show's direction? I can relate because it felt too reliant on racial stereotypes and jokes on said stereotypes at some point. I wonder what he is doing now.

I wonder what he is doing now. more or less. Dave loves doing stand up and felt that the show was taking away from that. He actually hated a lot of the skits he did. There was a show in Sacramento where Chappelle actually walked off stage because the crowd kept going "I'm Rick James Bitch". When he came back on stage he actually said that the show was ruining his life. Plus Dave's also very religious and became very uncomfortable in things he was doing, and what his own culture was finding funny (when he walked off the stage in Sacramento he actually told the crowd that he always fought with TV execs to tell them that his audience was very smart, but was sad to find out they were actually dumber than he could have ever imagined)

Jack Black? What? He mostly did bit parts and cameos for 3 years there, but that's largely because he was busy as shit in the few years before then and now the few years after. It's not like he disappeared.

Dana Carvey was actually seen as the breakout star coming out of the Wayne's World movie and a lot of people saw him as the next big comedic actor. Then two high profile mega failures in "The Dana Carvey Show" and "Master of Disguise" completely derailed his career and he quickly got outshined by his former SNL and Wayne's World co-star Mike Meyers. I know he's resurfaced recently with a couple of bit parts, I think he did a credit card commercial with Kevin Nealon resurrecting Hanz and Franz, but before that he had almost completely disappeared for nearly a decade. Man was it sad in Master of Disguise where he's doing an impression of Shrek. A character played by a guy that was on the same level as him at one point.

For those mentioning Mike Meyers, I think "The Love Guru" did a number on his career. He's always had a history of being difficult to work with and rather pretentious considering what his body of work includes. He supposedly once said he wanted to make a film with Frederico Fellini, a director who's style doesn't really mesh well with the Austin Powers crowd. And who can forget him insisting on completely redoing his voice work for Shrek just so he could do his Scottish accent? But he got away with it because he made money. Then "The Love Guru" completely bombed and it gave a lot of people who didn't like him an excuse to not have to work with him.
As for Geena Davis, "Cutthroat Island" destroyed any perception she had as a leading lady. Yeah she's had some parts since then, but I don't think anybody is trusting her with anything too high profile anymore.

What happened to Nate Richart? He was a bit of a teen heart-throb during the 1990s but pretty much seemed to disappear once Sabrina ended.

The longstanding feeling on Myers has always been that he's a bit of a dick, and far more of a perfectionist than he needs to be, considering the type of stuff he puts out. But, he made bank, so people put up with him. Then the Love Guru bombed harder than Fat Man and Little Boy, and suddenly, a lot of shit dried up for him.

Errr... that's not why transgender people are boycotting that... but I won't go off-topic. That's for another thread.

Last time I have seen Mike Myers was him dressed as a Mountie on a episode of Last Week Tonight.
But I guess he and John Oliver are friends cause they were both in The Love Guru. Have not seen Guru but I in my bit of research to make sure this fact is correct, I discovered Oliver's character's name is Dick Pants. Glad I avoided that one.
