Does anyone else feel this way? There are some maneuvers that I'll admit look cool on the surface, but deep down I could go without seeing in real life because the physical toll it takes on their head and neck are so obvious. With our current knowledge of concussions and rashes of injuries (or worse, tragically) guys have had, they can't help but rub me the wrong way.
As much as I love Kobashi, I do not, do NOT like his version of the "true Burning Hammer" because of what it does to hs opponent's neck and spine. And yes, I infinitely preferred the relatively safer one Tyler Reks was briefly doing, because it was still basically a back bump but IMO it still looked impressive due to the height he got off of it. And LAX was awesome, but no one should have to take either the Border Toss or Vertebreaker. Those moves would be badass in a video game, but I don't need to see that in real life. Ditto the flying headbutts Benoit and Daniel Bryan would pull out.
I do realize there's an inherent danger and element of risk with all pro wrestling moves, but there has to be a limit.

Any of the hard neck bumps for me. Some of the Japanese moves I can barely watch because there's absolutely no attempt to spread out the impact, and as a result, they don't even tend to be impressive moves with a big THUMP on the mat or anything, just ones that make you recoil.

Steiner screwdriver. Very impressive at his younger age, but very dangerous.

The Border Toss is the first thing that comes to mind, though I think it's less about the move and more the fact that Hernandez is a reckless asshole who seemingly couldn't give two f***s about protecting the poor sap taking it.

Styles Clash. I don't care what anyone says, the moment he messed up someone's neck, he should have stopped using it. If a move requires you to go against all natural instincts to take safely, it shouldn't be used.

Every injury caused by the Styles Clash has been the fault of the recipient forgetting how to take a front bump.

Basically any move where you land on your neck and or shoulders.
It's so easy to f*** up and seriously injure yourself or somebody else.

I just looked up the botched clashes to both Yoshi Tatsu and Roderick Strong, and in both of those, when he is setting up the move, they have their head leaned back, but when he goes to fall forward, they tuck in. I know instincts are instincts, but if you are already in the right position, seems to me you should be able to stay that way.

I was watching one of those YouTube compilation videos today of brutal WTF moves earlier, and........all of them. All those moves are just cringe inducing now. I've gotten to the point where I feel bad being amazed by them 10-20 years ago, because most if not all those people are due to be physically ruined as they get older and some are probably messed up already.

I hate when people do stuff like trying to do rolling Brainbusters or something. One's plenty, don't water down your move, and I am honestly not a huge fan of rolling Germans either, in the majority of cases.

Head strikes that are impressive because of how stiff they are. It's always going to look brutal to kick or backfist someone right in the face, but it's dangerous.

This gawd damn move I have seen a botched version of this and it was just brutal I love spinning backfists, which can look crazy if it's done by stiff guys.

This gawd damn move This particular example is so perfect in execution that I questioned just how dangerous the move was. Then I remembered that getting that much height consistently is hard and it's absolutely nasty when the user fails to do so.
