The "redneck rookie" to be more precise. This is just a small thing that just doesn't go over well with me. The guy has had an unreal list of accomplishments, titles, etc. Also, the whole, "but what has he done in the WWE? That is all that matters" thing. We have a guy who is headlining the HOF ceremony this year who did nothing in the WWE. So, imo, they need to drop that and recognize him for what he has done. Any chance of this happening? Does this bother anyone else?
Btw, I am very happy with the current product and I am very into wrestling right now, so this isn't just something I'm finding to complain about due to me being unhappy.

At the Royal Rumble, they called him a 16 year veteran and reeled off his accomplishments (excluding TNA stuff, of course). Not sure why they're trying to retcon that. The genie isn't getting back in the bottle after they put him over so big on his first night in the company.

Doesn't make much sense, but hopefully they start speaking about him and his prior accomplishments more.

i think they do a fine job of putting over his past while also referring to him as technically being a wwe rookie, and the only time its used disparagingly is when Miz is being a dick, so i dont have an issue with it

Maybe a part of me is just looking to see if they mess up and I'm just picking things out or being picky. Which I hope is the case.

Who called Styles "rookie"? The context is kind of important. Byron Saxton coined the Rookie Redneck term and then JBL tried to correct the moron. I have no doubt that Byron was so proud of the nickname he came up with.

Styles shouldn't be seen as a "lowly Indy wrestler" because the majority of his career was in New Japan and TNA (back when that meant something), so he got a good deal of exposure while Bryan was mostly an RoH (pre-Sinclair) guy.

Agreed. No offense to Bryan because he was a beloved indy guy prior to WWE who went on to have a career that people dream of, but the anticipation of the two arriving wasn't quite the same.

It's supposed to grate on you. They're cribbing what they did with Miz and Daniel Bryan to a degree, and that's fine, given it worked wonders.

I'd have issues if AJ was getting the Neville "looked good in defeat" push but that's not what's happening. Full of shit heel says something fans don't like, babyface face shuts them up is pro wrestling 101. I think complaints about how WWE is booking AJ so far are extremely nitpicky.

You're being worked, they're explaining his world experience and wrestling past quite a bit on TV.

If that is what they are doing then hey, I've been watching since 1992 and they can still work me. Which is probably why they've taken so much of my money for nearly the last 24 years.

Again, the reason I asked if it was a problem was because it wasn't the heel saying it, it was the commentators who get people over and tell the audience information.
