Southside have uploaded a free ZSJ vs Flash match that happened at their promotion last year, to help hype their upcoming qualifying match this Friday.
Very proud to say I have met both men within the past two weeks at PROGRESS and RPW shows. Both are such genuine and down to earth guys. As I said before in this thread it's a damn shame how this has got booked considering it is a given ZSJ is going to win. I read on twitter that apparently Trips didn't mean to say ZSJ for the announced participants, and meant to say another name. So to me there is a couple of things wrong with that, 1. ZSJ is a big enough name to get a buy through, without having a tournament match (like Ibushi etc), 2. If you accidently announce him, why not just stick to your guns with it? it didn't shock anyone that someone with a legit (and in my opinion, worthy) case as being the best in the world right now would be on the none qualifying talents for the tournament.
Flash is an incredible talent with a bright bright future, and I can't help but feel bad for the guy here as I think he had a rightful place representing UK in the tournament along with ZSJ/Dar/Scurll etc. It will be an incredible match without a doubt, and I can't wait to see it but it just baffles me how it has all gone down.
Lets hope they/Trips are prepaired for who are announced and who is put in qualifying matches for the final 20 participants.

Another premature naming - Noam Dar is now in Revolution Pro's qualifying match, he takes on Josh Bodom on May 1st at the Cockpit Theatre in London.

I was under the assumption that there would be multiple Rev Pro qualifying matches as well, not just one. Surely they will be announcing a match(es?) for Scurll and Haskins as well

The PROGRESS qualifiers are happening right now... Zack Sabre Jr has won the first one over Morgan Webster to re-confirm his place in the GCS, now waiting on a result for Jack Gallagher versus Pete Dunne.

Jack Gallagher is your winner, and he's in the GCS!

Two of my favorite things about WCW in 1991-92 was the light heavyweight division and the NWA World Tag Team Title tournament. The tag tournament had teams consisting of wrestlers from around the world that weren't in WCW. So having a Cruiserweight tournament consisting of guys from promotions around the world and said promotions are hosting qualifying matches? This is my shit! Have any of the qualifying matches been professionally filmed? This stuff should be on the Network. Even just clips. I tend not to watch "This Week In WWE", so I don't even know if they have mentioned the GCS, but they should start promoting it with updates on the qualifying matches. Edit:Well, that helped answer my questions.

This is shaping up nicely. Personally I'm not too concerned with who they do or don't get though. The top guys they don't get will most likely be in the Super J Cup and vice versa, and I'll be watching both. Should be a great summer for wrestling if you dig cruiserweights.

This is such a 90s WCW(good WCW) thing to do. I'm so curious to see how it'll be booked.

Both matches were very good - Zack had most of it against Webster, but Webster battled back and had Sabre Jr. startled for a while, and was one 450 away from getting it done. Gallagher was super popular, Dunne used his power, but Gallagher's technical expertise got it done. ZSJ and Gallagher will be fitting representatives in the GCS.

Alright, I got myself under 225 pounds. Is it too late to qualify for this thing? Where do I sign up exactly?

That picture of Gallagher makes him look like the lovechild of Sheamus and Simon Gotch. I'm not sure whether that's bad or brilliant.

So that Zack dude is gonna win it all right? I'd say he's the early favorite. Based on a vibe I get, despite never seeing a single one of his matches.

So that Zack dude is gonna win it all right? Manny Andrade will/should win because he doesn't have much hype in North America, Europe (other than in Mexico) despite being an elite talent with huge star potential Early reports also had him penciled in as the winner, but plans can change of course. Can only see it being Manny Andrade, or Kota Ibushi IF they got him signed

Yeah. I really doubt that WWE has someone win who isn't under contract. Wouldn't make sense...
