He's under contract to another company... That was kind of a spoiler but you can figure it out. Crap I forgot about that

Truly is a world cup of wrestling. Lot of names I wasn't expecting, but some good guys, Plus who can't love a guy named Zumbi?

Damn. I wanted Da Mack to be Mack from LU.
I hope this tournament helps me understand what others see in ZSJ because I just don't get it. I watched his match with Swagsuke and he was boring. I'd've preferred Will Ospreay.
I assume some of these guys will get picked up after the tourney. Maybe Gulak and Dorado?

Was just looking over the bios and checking out clips of the different participants...and I'm just so excited for this. This is a masterful stroke by Triple H. It has equally old school and new school vibes going for it. You've got on one hand, a classic tournament bracket, a world wide feel that is reminiscent of Vince Sr. days... You mix that with a handful of top young indie talent, many who carry a tremendous buzz and are doing highly creative high flying and technical grappling.
WWE will give these guys (some of who are barely on the radar) great exposure, the fans lots of potential dream matches, and themselves the "edge" that they need in this social media heavy world.
Literally everyone in the equation wins:
-The guys that shine the brightest likely get NXT offers, the rest can demand a bigger check at their future indie dates because they were chosen by WWE as one of the best cruiserweights in the world. -WWE reloads NXT with more of the best wrestlers in the world. -The Network gets exclusive content that will be highly sought after by fans around the world. -The fans get to see some of their favorites from the indies under the brightest lights and best production teams in the business.
I cannot wait for this to start.

Can Tajiri still hold his own in the ring? He's definitively past his prime but he can still hit his spots.

Also Amazing Red was suppose to be part of the CWC but due to his injured ankle, he will not be able to participate.

Also Amazing Red was suppose to be part of the CWC but due to his injured ankle, he will not be able to participate. Was just about to post this after seeing the report A damn damn shame for such a great and influential indy high flying talent. It's a shame how underappreciated his run in early ROH/TNA was and how he has influenced the high flyers of today

If you look at the list you can see a lot of those wrestlers had tryouts in the past with the WWE so maybe this is an new way WWE could hold tryouts for some.

Red is a bump machine.

The most interesting name released was probably Gran Metalik. He claims that Finn Balor pushed for him to be included in the tournament, and that he received permission from CMLL to be in the tournament. He claims he is not leaving CMLL.

On the WWE YouTube page they've uploaded a bunch of highlight videos for the majority of the participants in the tournament. Really cool for folks who are familiar with the wrestlers. WWE (Triple H) is doing a fantastic job with this whole concept & I'm hoping for more stuff like this in the future. Question for people that are really keyed into the worldwide indy scene, are they're enough super talented super heavyweights working today that could fill out a tournament like this?
