He looks like Greg kinnear If Riley can't spell Mboscodictiasaur, he should just go home and stay home.

There comes a point when many of us with certain hairlines need to just go ahead and abandon trying for any sorta length. This appears to be Alex's time.
That's not me being mean either, as a dude who shaves his head you sometimes gotta concede that the battle has been lost.

Eh, his hair looks better when it's short, but you can't blame a guy for trying to update his look. His hair is a hot mess, but it's not a "shave your head entirely" hot mess.

Not saying that, but it's defintely David Lee Roth trying to hold on to past glory.

Riley's lack of understanding of punctuation leads everyone to the obvious punchline of "Anything can make you do that."

So Riley was on the second season of NXT in 2010. Surely he has to be the only guy still on NXT after all those seasons? funny how different the show is now but still weird he's basically doing the same sort of thing he was 6 years ago except he's trying to pretend he's a veteran when he's not.

I don't want to say it to his face, because that would require getting close to him, and he looks like he smells of stale beer and disappointment. Sure, "looks like".

He IS a veteran. Game show NXT was so long ago that all of the "rookies" pretty much are Veterans (side note: that was the point of the "Social Jobbers" outrage at Yeti Josh), just one that hasn't been very successful. He isn't "still" anything, because WWE Superstars have been showing up on NXT ever since Full Sail NXT was a thing. If you want to subscribe to HHH's "developmental my ass" and "THIS IS NXT, this is a brand" rhetoric, you can't knock him for "still" being there. Imo the problem with Riley on NXT is that there's no real reason in kayfabe to be there. Ryder and Emma are at least trying to help out the younger guys through their alliances with Mojo and Dana respectively. Riley's only real tie to NXT was his announcer gig and his feud with Owens, neither of which is a factor anymore. Imo he should've just resumed wrestling on Superstars and Main Event with the occasional "Del Rio's Wheel of Aggression" match.

Guys like Curtis Axel or Slater were involved in some decent feuds in the past and are trusted workers for guys like The Rock. Riley is just that guy delusional enough to think that he's great and everybody should like him and respect him when he's mediocre at best in the ring/mic and could easily replaced in the blink of an eye and nothing of value would be lost. No one can say " That Riley match/promo was awesome, push this guy " and that's not WWE fault since guys like Ryder or others low carders receive complements when they deserve it. Riley just sucks. He's been with the company since 2007 to only win the FCW title that almost everybody on the FCW roster won and receive a face reacton thanks to that heat machine called The Miz. I guarantee you that had Riley debuted 2 or 3 years ago or even today, he would been gone with the "no plans for you" or "Brad Maddox" treatment.

I guarantee you that had Riley debuted 2 or 3 years ago or even today, he would been gone with the "no plans for you" or "Brad Maddox" treatment. I'd hardly call Riley delusional. He's confident in his abilities, but not once have I seen him say anything along the lines of "I should've been this or that" or "I should've gotten this guy's push". People HAVE said, "That Riley match/promo was awesome, push this guy" in the past in the few times that he actually has been used for anything substantial. He doesn't get as many compliments as his peers because he straight up isn't used as much as his peers so there isn't as much to react to. But honestly, I believe that Riley is the best in-ring talent out of all the guys who AREN'T commended for their "workrate". Even compared to other lower card guys, Riley has been underutilized; they never even used him for "fun Maggle" comedy stuff or things that involve "the entire roster". When WWE does take any minor interest in the lower card, he never gets to benefit from it The Miz is good at getting heat and getting other guys over, but I think you're selling Riley's abilities a bit short. It's not like people immediately stopped caring when he stopped interacting with Miz. He was getting reactions for quite some time long after he lost his push. On Twitter, he has 500K+ Twitter Followers, which probably isn't a much to look at in 2016, but oddly 4/5th of those followers only started following him after he stopped being relevant. Riley has to have at least some value to the company, since they didn't axe him when they axed a bunch of guys just for the sake of saving money, nor does he seem to receive any disciplinary actions for his erratic behavior. If Riley is supposedly this arrogant f***head who openly hates the indy darlings (you know, those guys who are always taking selfies with HHH, the boss) with the fire of a thousand suns, he'd have been gone a long time ago. Honestly, if Riley debuted 2 or 3 years ago, or even today, he'd probably have been given more of a chance. Alex Riley seems to be looked down on as an avatar of the Johnny Ace/Clone Factory era and I often get the vibe that the company is punishing him for being a product of that dark period rather than legitimately trying to fix him.

In the Slater case, he was trusted to work with Bret Hart. That's how much they rate Slater as a worker, just like they rate Axel enough to have him be the guy working with the Rock (I've also heard that he worked with Brock when he made his return in 2012) to get him back into ring shape.

It is really weird that he's managed to stay employed for as long as he has.
He's just the most average worker you could ever find, and he comes across as really unlikeable too. Maybe he could work as an Eva Marie style heel where everyone hates him because he sucks.
