Harrison Ford will be 77 by the time Indy 5 comes out in 2019. To say I'm skeptical about how this is going to turn out is an understatement.
And yes I'm aware that he was 72 when he pulled off a cracking job of being Han Solo in the Force Awakens last year, but all he really had to do as Han was run down corridors and shoot a blaster in that movie. He's going to be five more years older and Indiana Jones is a much more fast paced character than Han Solo is.
Having said that, Ford seems keen on the idea and I guess if he feels he can do it then who am I to say he can't do it? Spielberg coming back and no sign of George Lucas or Shia LaBeouf anywhere is also a good sign.

Anyone else think that if they'd done Crystal Skull five years later with Chris Pratt as Indy's son it would have been much better recieved?

I did not mind Shia's character at all. I get that the actor is a douche, but that should not stop you from enjoying his work.

So he won't be 77 in the movie. Also it's not like he's a decrepit old man that can barely walk. Though not sure if I'm down for this.

I dunno why, but it feels like Crystal Skull came out during a sort of nadir of that sort of action film, but at the same time, 2008 is when Iron Man came out, so that argument doesn't really work. I wonder if they're going to acknowledge Crystal Skull or just kind of gloss over it.

So will Indy still be married in this film (they can write off Mutt by just having a line about him going to college/running away/died in vietnam)? The idea of married action heroes always interested me.

Make it a computer animated adaptation of Fate of Atlantis with Ford voicing Indy and I'm game.

I want to see the concept of Indy narrating the story of another adventurer in the future finding his corpse in some random tomb

I did not mind Shia's character at all. I get that the actor is a douche, but that should not stop you from enjoying his work. Well, the problem with that logic is that he's...not very good at that whole acting thing. Granted, that's subjective, but some of us happen to dislike him because of his work, not in spite of it.

I'll pass, thanks. As soon as Ray Winston did his exaggerated Cockney accent in Crystal Skull (despite already possessing one in real life), I knew it wasn't going to live up to expectation. It went downhill from there, but I knew that at least there wouldn't be a sequel.
I guess I was wrong...

Crystal Skull wasn't bad. That's your opinion and you are welcome to it. But yeah... yeah it was and I'm pretty easily entertained and not someone that likes to jump on hatewagons.

Anyone else think that if they'd done Crystal Skull five years later with Chris Pratt as Indy's son it would have been much better recieved? Now in the business, THAT is what's called an awesome idea. I'm going to go ahead and take it a step further, and say that Pratt's character in Jurassic World is Indiana Jones's grandson. I'd love to say son, but that's too much of a stretch.
