I just checked Wikipedia, and Los Matadores were last seen on TV in the beginning of September 2015. A full six months ago.
Hornsoggle was suspended at the end of September last year for 30 days. So when his suspension lifted that's been about five months since he's been seen on TV.
So what do these guys do? Do they still tour with the rest of the roster and then just sit backstage all night during Raw? Do they wait to maybe be chosen to do something on Smackdown? Or do they just sit at home and wait for a phone call to either work or be released?
Any ideas?

They answer phones at the WWE Network helpline. And beg for work. "Come on, you got anything? I'll feed the pets, paint your house, ANYTHING?"

They sit at home and wash their tights. Gosh, have you not been listening to that Batman '89 meme this whole time?!?!

Wait... so the Colons have been missing since right before WWE 2K16 came out, and they've recently shown up in a dlc? The ONLY reasonable explaination is that they're trapped in the game, Tron-style.

There were rumors about Los Matadores being repackaged. I think they should be brought back as teachers who try to teach the crowd Spanish. They could have their own commentator who announces in Spanish during the matches.

Los Matadores wrestle on house shows once in a while if needed.

Matadors are getting repackaged and didn't Hornswoggle get in trouble for drugs?

I've assumed that Epico & Primo don't show up to work unless specifically requested. They're not even doing house shows lately.

But they should be "specifically requested" at least once every other week. When AJ Lee returned in the summer of 2014, at first, before stopping altogether, she got every other house show loop off. Which is pretty nice of WWE, all things considered. If they want to cut back on injuries, doing an 'every other week' arrangement seems like it could help.

I still want to see Primo get a good mid-card run ala something like Kalisto has had. Even if it's just NXT, something to showcase himself better without a silly gimmick.

I've assumed that Epico & Primo don't show up to work unless specifically requested. They're not even doing house shows lately. Assuming they're still getting paid, that's a pretty sweet gig. Sure, you'd get bored after a while, but I dunno, if my job were like "We'll call you if we need you, but we're still paying you your standard rate", I'd be pleased as punch.

I can't speak for Primo but he did tape a podcast interview with Jericho late last year before he disappeared. He speaks very eloquently and passionately about the business. I'm tempted to assume that 'The World's Longest Repackaging' is at least a bit frustrating. He's a trooper. Hell, they both are. WWE took their original Los Matadores idea, basically Latino New Day, and turned it into something else entirely. They stuck with it for two years before they told creative 'hey, we can't do this anymore'. They were removed from TV shortly after. I don't know. Six months is a really long time to "forget" about a team that no one cared about. It's far more likely that whatever plans were set changed and now there's nothing. If they don't return a bit after WM, it's hard to see that they will. ETA: There's a much shorter version of that. To paraphrase JBL, I'm sure there's professional pride in play here.

Los Matadores was a good idea at first, until it became really obvious that it was just a vehicle for El Torito.

Didn't WCW sign loads of guys they had no intent on ever using just to stop the WWF from being able to sign them?
Reason I mention it is they apparently used to fly alot of these guys in for every TV taping even though they had no intention of ever using them.

The last time Los Matadores wrestled was the weekend of February 13 & 14 in losses to The Lucha Dragons. And it looks like they worked every weekend before that since the beginning of the year. profightdb.com/wrestlers/diego-3240.html

Yeah, and that was the weakest match on the card.
