Yeah, Ragnarok wrapped 13 months ago. Avengers 4 started filming in August, so I imagine this photo shoot happened around the same time. I suspect Thor gets his eye and Mjolnir back via Dr. Strange. Hmm, kind of disappointing because he'd look pretty cool with the new costume and the eye patch too.

Honestly I'm pretty torn on the subject of going to see this. Seeing a massive crossover of pretty much all the heroes at once would be pretty awesome, since there's really never been anything remotely like that before in live action before of just an outright crisis crossover, but I'm very up and down on Marvel movies. First batch I pretty much all liked other than Iron Man 2 (and even then it's not like the movie's unwatchable by any stretch) and especially loved the first Avengers, but second and third... Had no desire to see Ant Man or Doctor Strange (and go ahead and stick Black Panther in that pile), hated Homecoming, Winter Soldier bored the hell out of me, didn't like Thor 2 or really care for Thor 3, Age of Ultron was a huge pile of bleh... But I had fun with Iron Man 3 and Civil War (though admittedly not been in much of a rush to rewatch them) and quite enjoyed the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, so I dunno. When these movies hit for me they hit but more often than not post wave one the experience just feels hollow. Maybe I just got tired of the formula, I dunno. Really biggest hopes for Infinity War are that they actually make Thanos an interesting villain, because the universe barely has any of those and he's been the poster child of that the way he's been menacingly sitting in his chair for six years, and that they let a moment be a moment because one of my biggest issues with the recent movies, and Thor 3 in particular is the poster child of this, how it feels like they can't ever let something be serious for two seconds without following it up with a stupid joke. Good to know. No need to be condescending. If you don't care about my opinion don't say anything.

As someone who missed Fury in Civil War, very glad to see him back for this. Wouldn't feel like an Avengers flick without Sam Jack.

So Tom Holland “accidentally” revealed the teaser poster for Infinity War, which is just the logo with “Infinity May 4” on it.
Which...yeah, I’m not fooled.

Holland and Ruffalo have been Marvel's go-to guys for "accidentally" letting things slip to build hype. Remains to be seen whether any of it actually turns out to be true or if they're just having fun with it.

Teaser poster so really doesn't matter but the text is way too small. Like the colors on it though, although I think it's too zoomed in on the logo and makes it look more like some awkward Fantastic Four knockoff logo than the Avengers one.

In the Vanity Fair article, Kevin Feige talks up how Infinity War will be a proper finale for a lot of the heroes who have been featured in Phases 1 through 3. And yet, I don't think these movies have actually earned a finale, especially when the characters come together in the Avengers movies.
I think that Avengers 3 and 4 ought to have the same feel as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, parts 1 and 2. The last two Potter movies felt like the story was actually drawing to a close. Characters grew up, changed, and matured over the course of the story, while others were allowed to move on (or were killed off in such a way that it actually meant something to the characters). And maybe why I feel like the Potter movies earned their conclusion is because the movies kept the relationship between Harry, Hermione, and Ron consistent and at the fore.
But we've really never seen the Avengers be pals or a family as much as Harry, Hermione, and Ron were. Sure, they hung out for shawarma that one time, they beat up some HYDRA goons, had drinks at Stark Tower, and chilled at Hawkeye's farm, but they've never really been 'together' per se, through thick and thin, like Potter, Granger, and Weasley were.
Additionally, Loki, the Chitauri, and Ultron never had the menace that Voldemort had as a persistent threat, and that's also something that Thanos should have, but I don't think introducing such an element of dread in essentially chapters 19 and 22 of the story is going to make the Big Bad feel meaningful and impactful, not like Thanos should.
At least, that's my read on the characters and the overall situation of the Marvel universe after having watched 34 hours of Feige movies. Regardless of the so-so quality of most of Marvel's movies, I want to be excited for Infinity War, but I can't shake the feeling that Feige, the Russo brothers, and Markus and McFeely are going to whiff in a really big way, artistically speaking, despite making billions of dollars otherwise.

TRAILER COMES OUT TOMORROW GUYS! They released a teaser for their own trailer featuring reactions to their previous trailer. Marvel Studios has a self-fueling hype train. They got the sauce.

I know it's bad for the industry as a whole, but god I'm so looking forward to a unified Marvel.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}The moment T'Challa says "And somebody get this man a shield" had the same level of cool as Fisbourne going "Somebody get this man...a gun" from John Wick 2. So damn cool I'm hyped. Because hey, at worst it's going to be hella fun.

I feel like that kind of shows way too much for a teaser, but it does certainly manage to get my attention and make me curious to see where some of that stuff is going.

For those of you worried this'll be as jovial and silly as Ragnarok...I think we can rest easy. Because, as I keep saying to all of you, EVERYONE IS GOING TO DIE. All of them. The people you love, hate, feel indifferent to, EVERYONE WILL DIE! (And then get brought back in Avengers 4 unless they do some hokey stuff with the people whose contracts are going for but still!)

Looks very corny especially compared to the badass Black Panther trailers from earlier this year.
But as far as these team-up movies go, the best you can really hope for is an entertaining hot mess.
Also, Thanos looks like a roided up Grimace.
