I absolutely love the show, but I have a really hard time picturing that magic being recaptured. And also it's kind of a weird one to bring back because from what I've heard it's not really a known thing in Japan and mostly is just big in the west. Edit: Okay, no, I cannot get on board with this reading it's not focused on Naota. He's pretty much the heart of the show. Not sure if that synopsis is even true, and if so, doesn't mean Naota won't be back, depending on how much of a skip this is, that could even be his daughter... let's see what happens
Between this and Samurai Jack Toonami is making some awesome moves, really excited about it. Was worried when they announced they wouldn't be at Momocon this year but business seems to be booming for them.

This news has motivated me to rewatch the original show for the billionth time. Good timing on it because now it made me think to hope for something stupid to happen at Mania so I can use this GIF.

I f***ing love FLCL but as much as I'm willing to give another season a chance it will take an absolute herculean effort to capture lighting in a bottle twice with a show that great.

Yeah, I don't think no matter what this show does it's going to be that good. I'm mostly just hoping it at least feels like a solid, if inferior, follow-up instead of being a complete shell of its former self. Hoping for more Yoshi's Island DS and less Yoshi's New Island, basically. Also REALLY hoping they don't turn Naota into the show's Amarao analogue when so much of the original show was him maturing and showing he wasn't going to fall into that hole. I can very easily see that happening and I really hope not.

They've announced Yoshiyuki Sadamoto - the original character designer - will be back for this. And in more exciting news, the Pillows also will be.

Not bad. When's my Outlaw Star sequel? I would prefer this, but that ended on a high note as well. When I was younger, I wanted them to continue Cowboy Bebop, but now, I think it was ended perfectly.

Well, I mean, they already continued Cowboy Bebop anyway, kind of. Though honestly not really a fan of it.

I can very easily see that happening and I really hope not. Maybe he'll be related to the new protagonist? Or maybe a mentor to the protagonist? Or maybe he will be the reason Haruko returns, like now that he is older she wants to take him with her, but the new cast says no which leads to a fight?
